Snaptrip says

Guests generally enjoy the tranquil setting and comfortable lodgings of 1 Lake View, with its beautiful surroundings and added luxuries such as a jacuzzi and sauna. The on-site restaurant receives praise for its high-quality food, and the property is appreciated for its peacefulness and suitability for romantic getaways or quiet breaks.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cleanliness of the lodge receives mixed reviews. While some guests found it to be excellent, others reported issues with mould, dust, and debris in the spa bath. The presence of hair and sticky surfaces upon arrival was also noted, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views and serene woodland lake setting, offering a peaceful retreat. It is noted as being somewhat remote, requiring a car for access to local amenities, but this seclusion is also part of its charm for those seeking tranquillity.

Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of a comfortable bed, sofa, and the overall cosiness of the lodge. However, some guests reported issues with the bed and a lack of basic amenities, which slightly detracts from the overall comfort experience.

Facilities such as the sauna, jacuzzi, and on-site restaurant are appreciated, but there are recurring mentions of maintenance issues like black flakes from spa jets and non-functioning items. The lack of clear instructions for some appliances also suggests a need for better upkeep and guest guidance.

Guests mention thoughtful touches like a welcome box with essentials and fresh milk in the fridge. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.

The food at the Old Mill was lovely! And nice to have a jacuzzi and steam room within the lodge! Very peaceful and quiet

Sally in reception and the staff in the restaurant were all brilliant. The lodge was spacious but was let down by poor cleaning, Mould on the bathroom ceiling and some of the corners and nooks and crannies' around the lodge had been missed by the cleaning. As other people had commented there were black flakes coming into the hot tub. No problem fishing them out, but why should we. All in all, a nice lodge but it needs some TLC.

We found the bed was very low and not very comfortable , could do with a new mattress. The bath mat needed replacing as it didn’t grip to the bath when showering and I did slip and almost fall , we had to go and purchase a better one to prevent us having an accident , nice reclining sofa in lounge and the cabin is in a lovely quiet location with excellent Wi-Fi . Everything we needed was supplied in the cabin
