About this property

Experience - The Area...

Surrounded by unspoilt countryside on the edge of Trenowth Wood yet only a 20 minute drive from the cathedral city of Truro and both the stunning North and South Coasts, this recently refurbished self-contained single storey annexe enjoys shared access to the owner's outdoor heated swimming pool (sole use by agreement).

Set in the south facing private gardens of Trenowth Orchard which extend to over half an acre surrounded by open fields and ancient oak woodlands, this idyllic cosy property, double glazed and centrally heated, offers a comfortable and well equipped home from home at any time of the year; an ideal base for touring the whole county being just 10 minutes from the A30.

The village of Grampound Road, 1.5 miles, has a village store/P.O., and there are local pubs in the nearby villages of Ladock and Grampound about a 5 minute drive respectively.  There is a larger selection of shops, supermarkets, a cinema and leisure facilities in St Austell approximately 6 miles away.

There is a wide choice of coastal villages and beaches including Mevagissey, Gorran Haven and Portloe on the South Coast and Newquay and Perranporth on the North Coast, all within an easy 30 minute drive and the area is excellent for walking with many quiet routes exploring the local countryside.

For horticultural lovers, Trewithen Gardens, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Caerhays Castle and the Eden Project can all be reached by car in 20 minutes and there are also a plenitude of golf courses and cycling routes nearby.

Stay - The Accommodation...

Approached from the shared tarmac driveway where there is ample parking, one step leads up to the glazed front door opening directly into the light and airy living room which catches the sun all day from south facing French Windows.

The delightful living accommodation comprises of a modern fitted kitchen area, dining furniture, and a comfortable settee to snuggle up on facing the wood burning stove and enjoying countryside views across the garden.

Leading off to one side is a charming kingsize bedroom overlooking the garden and a wet room W.C. with hand basin and walk-in shower.  There are no internal steps making this property suitable for the less mobile.

One step leads down to a large slate paved patio offering a lovely setting for holidaymakers to enjoy a barbecue after a day exploring the local country footpaths and woodland walks and watch the wonderful sunsets.  An elevated south facing private garden with seating is available for sole use of guests and there is also freedom to enjoy the gardens and adjacent fields for picnics, bordered by the local railway line.  Please keep dogs under control.

Set within the grounds of the owners extensive home and orchard, guests have shared use of the sheltered outdoor heated swimming pool (10m long x 2.5m deep) available from May to October (subject to weather).  Sun loungers are available for the poolside, there is an outdoor table tennis table for the patio and storage can be provided for bicycles and beachgear.  The owner will also provide two complimentary return trips to local restaurants or walking destinations.

Remember - Don't forget...

- The pool will not be available until Friday 6th July 2018 due to essential maintenance

Little gem in the heart of Cornwall. Hidden away but so near to the A30 and all the places to visit. We loved the Pad with a Pool even though we did not use it. This place is ideal for those less able with a fantastic wet room. We loved every minute we spent there. We would love to go again and please god we will. The house and the owners definitely made our holiday, we will always remember fondly. This property cannot be faulted.
