Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments about cleanliness issues. The property seems to be kept to a high standard of cleanliness overall.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to local amenities, and as a base for exploring Cornwall. The steep and narrow roads are noted, and parking is mentioned as a challenge, but the location's charm and convenience outweigh these concerns.

While many guests found the cottage cosy and the garden delightful, there are several remarks about uncomfortable beds and seating. The comfort of the mattresses and sofas has been brought up as an area for improvement.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the cottage being described as well-equipped. However, some guests reported issues with maintenance such as the log burner not working and problems with the shower, which affects the score.

Guests have mentioned receiving local biscuits, cider, and milk upon arrival, which is a thoughtful touch. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be provided for every stay.

About this property

This dear little 18th century, semi-detached cottage sits at the top of the famous Cornish village of Boscastle, where two rivers meet the sea in a natural harbour between steep moorland hillsides. Enjoying lovely long views over the village to the sea, this neat-as-a-pin cottage provides cosy accommodation for families wanting to explore this dramatic stretch of the north Cornish coast. Relax in the comfy open plan sitting room, kitchen and dining area with low beams and wood burning stove neatly tucked into the inglenook fireplace. There’s a neat little entrance porch with plenty of room for coats and boots. On the upper floor, two comfortable bedrooms, a double with those lovely long views and a glimpse of the sea, a twin and a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC, also enjoying a good view. Outside, a neat, enclosed shrub-filled garden with those delightful views. It’s a short stroll to the dramatically beautiful harbour entrance (lovely cliff top walks), as well as the village’s shops, pubs, cafés and spooky witchcraft museum. If you like a little action, head for the nearby local pony-trekking stables or the fine surfing beach at Trebarwith Strand. Fuchsia Cottage is a great spot for exploring this dramatic and beautiful stretch of the north Cornish coastline any time of the year.

A perfect Cornish coastal village, the road through Boscastle runs down to the small harbour at the bottom of the hill. The quaint village shops, local restaurants and pubs offering good food, Cornish real ales and live entertainment by local musicians, make this an ever popular visitor destination.
