A restful home-from-home in a quiet corner of the Village of Gardens at Pendra Loweth, Hedgehog Cottage is just a short drive from the popular maritime town of Falmouth. A purpose built village of holiday homes, Pendra Loweth is a great choice for young families, with onsite all-weather tennis courts, a splash pool, shared lawns and a childrens playground. Hedgehog Cottage sits at the end of a terrace, a stones throw from the tennis courts, overlooking a babbling stream and the footpath which leads down to Maenporth beach. On the ground floor, a modern kitchen leads into an open plan lounge/dining area - from where, French doors open out on to a private terrace which catches the afternoon sun each day. Upstairs, two comfortable bedrooms provide plenty of space and storage; the second of which can be presented as either a king size bed or twin beds, affording flexibility for couples or friends looking to holiday together. Out and about, the North Helford offers a combination of beach, valley and creekside adventures; discover hidden hamlets, riverside inns, sub-tropical gardens and plenty of opportunities to get out on the water. Quirky Falmouth has an eclectic range of shops as well as some excellent restaurants and a colourful marina where hours can be spent just watching the world go by. Falmouth is also home to the National Maritime Museum, a good option for a rainy day. A fantastic base for exploring this popular visitor destination, Hedgehog Cottage is ideal for those seeking a well-placed, relaxing family holiday.
Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbourside pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry viii, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes).

So well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. Even provided dish washer tablets for the dishwasher. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay and would definitely recommend Hedgehog Cottage for a perfect holiday.

Nice to have a bar, gym and plunge pool/jacuzzi on site (although we did not use them). Home did not have a washing machine but there was a laundry onsite (although a wash and tumble dry cost approx £10 which was a bit steep!). Master bedroom had a double bed and second bedroom was a twin. The kitchen was well equipped but there was very limited space available for storing food/provisions. Dishwasher/oven/fridge-freezer were clean, as was whole house. There was an issue with the TV, which had obviously been reported to the owner by the previous occupant, as I received a call from the owner. She offered to provide another TV from a friend, however I deduced that the issue was with the remote control, rather than the TV itself. I passed this on to the owner and she very quickly organised a suitable replacement to be provided. Not really an issue as we brought an Amazon Fire TV stick with us which got around the immediate issue (after we took the batteries out of the duff remote control). This demonstrated the owner's desire for good customer service. Overall, I would certainly stay here again. Overall cost for the week was reasonable.
