About this property

A welcoming and well-equipped family home set in a quiet corner of the Village of Gardens holiday complex at Pendra Loweth, Morton Cottage is just a short drive from Falmouth. Located at the end of a terrace near the onsite tennis courts and a pathway leading down to Maenporth beach, the cottage backs on to a streamside path and enjoys a pleasant aspect. On the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen and an open plan dining and lounge area, from where, doors lead out on to a west facing patio complete with outdoor table and chairs – the perfect spot for sunny breakfasts and somewhere to relax whilst the children play on the shared lawn beyond. On the first floor are two comfortable bedrooms; the twin room aimed at children but perfectly suitable for adults too. The family bathroom is also located on the first floor. Morton Cottage has been equipped very much with the family in mind, and guests will no doubt enjoy the games, toys, books and films left by the owners. The Village of Gardens itself is also ideal for young families, with a small plunge pool and children’s play area onsite, as well as the tennis courts and a Jacuzzi (seasonal opening times). When you want to explore further, the sheltered beaches at Maenporth and Swanpool are very popular with families and offer good conditions for bathing and kayaking – and the town of Falmouth is just a short drive away. Falmouth is home to a range of shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as the National Maritime Museum, Pendennis Castle and several beautiful gardens. A fantastic base for a family holiday throughout the year, Morton Cottage is a great option for those seeking a combination of beach and sightseeing.

Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbourside pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry viii, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views. Across from Falmouth harbour is the beautiful town of St Mawes, surrounded by the rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush green countryside of the Roseland Peninsula. Go there by car (15 miles) or take the passenger ferry from Falmouth (15 minutes).

We were lucky to book for 3 weeks for our honeymoon and we couldn't have chosen a nicer place. The cottage was so clean and tidy and was tastefully done. It was well equipped too with everything you would need for your stay. We went in early autumn and the holiday site was very peaceful and quiet, in fact i never saw anyone else in the communal garden area the whole time! The cottage is so close to falmouth and surrounding beaches, which we enjoyed. I would like to big thank you to the owners for letting us stay in their beautiful home. We will certainly return in the future.

We had a lovely stay and would book again however, I would suggest that more attention is paid by the housekeeper. The amount of spiders and cobwebs that I hoovered up on arrival was crazy, not a problem for some but my daughter is terrified of spiders. The cottage could also benefit from a little tlc, it is definitely looking a little tired in places but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. Overall a lovely cottage
