2 Kitts Hill is a superb renovated and extended 1840s Victorian semi-detached house built of local stone with a large private enclosed garden, sun deck and lawn. Located at the heart of the north Cornwall coast and Camel Estuary close to Padstow and Rock providing the dramatic backdrop for much of the filming of the latest BBC adaptation of Poldark.

2 Kitts Hill is situated on the edge of the tranquil hamlet of Trewethern, half a mile from pretty Chapel Amble village with the popular Malsters Arms pub on the village green. This amazing location is perfectly positioned for exploring Padstow (9 miles), Rock (4 miles) Port Issac (3 miles), Polzeath (5 miles), Poldark Country and the beauty and variety of the Camel Estuary and surrounding coast.

  • Some of the best beaches in Cornwall are on the doorstep with fabulous golden sandy beaches close by at Rock, Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Harlyn Bay with surf schools, sailing and water sports available or to just enjoy the beauty of the unspoilt scenery and rugged coastline.

  • Head west to the lighthouse at Trevose Head, then beyond to Trevone with its fabulous Beach Cafe, the National Trusts’ Bedruthan Steps and Watergate Bay, the location for Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall restaurant. A little further on find Newquay and Fistral Beach, the internationally renowned world surf venue.

  • The beautiful fishing village of Port Issac with its quintessential Cornish fishing harbour, fish market, shops and cafes is just 4 miles away, providing the setting for the Doc Martin TV series and is home to Nathan Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen (awarded the UK’s Best Restaurant award in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2018).

  • Padstow with its pretty and vibrant harbour, shops, galleries and Rick Stein’s Café, Seafood Restaurant and Fish and Chip Restaurant is 9 miles away by road or 4 miles via the passenger ferry from Rock. Make sure to visit the Lobster Hatchery providing conservation for lobsters in local sea waters.

  • The Camel Cycle Trail along the Camel Estuary provides outstanding views with cycle hire available at Padstow Quay and Wadebridge.

  • Prideaux Place, a beautiful Elizabethan manor house, overlooks Padstow harbour. Much of the filming of Poldark takes place against the backdrop of North Cornwall’s breath taking coastline. In the latest BBC adaptation the spectacular headland at Stepper Point, at the mouth of the Camel Estuary and part of the Prideaux Estate was used for some of the most dramatic cliff scenes.


  • Wadebridge at the head of the estuary provides an eclectic mix of independent and antique shops along with its lovely unique cinema.

  • The County city of Truro and the Eden Project, the unique eco botanical gardens in Bodelva, on the south coast are in easy reach just 30 minutes’ drive away.
