There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. There are a number of golf courses in the area, as well as National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, plus attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

We had one or two minor issues when we arrived, but Tracey, our contact, was very attentive and on the ball, nothing was too much trouble. The garden is secure for dogs and well maintained by the weekly gardener. The sofa's in the lounge were comfortable and so were the beds, the shower was good and it was handy to have two toilets! We stayed for 4 weeks and wish it could have been longer! The village is very pretty, the local shop/post office was an easy short walk, as were the two pubs - our preference was the Old Albion Inn, great food, cosy yet spacious. The beach is a 10 min walk downhill, and when we came back we went up over the dunes from the National Trust car park, it made the climb back up a little easier! The beach is stunning and there is so much to see on the North Coast of Cornwall. The only slight negative is the steps to the front door, it's quite a steep step out from the front door, and for elderly visitors, I would recommend a handrail on the wall that runs adjacent to the steps. But, of all the cottages & bungalows we have stayed in, this was by far the best for comfort and location, and we hope to return one day.

We have been to Crantock before and love the walks and beach. Keelyn cottage is ideal to access both. Within easy walking distance to two great pubs. We only tried the cornishman but had an amazing roast dinner. Only minor negatives for us would be to have the Towel rail on in the bathroom (understand it is not on due to safety reasons?) and have a hose attached to the tap in the back garden to help clean off muddy boots and dog. But wouldnt stop us from returning to this lovely cottage.

Can’t see how £40 per dog is justified within the price of the property. Just an opinion. Great property though.
