The house was absolutely fantastic! Very clean on arrival and communication with the property owner was brilliant! We left some items behind and she said she is going to post them to us. When I said I will pay her for the inconvenience, she said as long as we had a nice time, that was the main thing and she will post the items. I couldn't have asked for any more!

Our extended family of 6 adults, one toddler and boisterous cocker spaniel, travelled from Leeds, West Yorks enduring terrible rain and driving conditions on our journey. However on arrival at Fistral the clouds parted and a week of broken sunshine and warm temperatures commenced. We found the house to be perfectly located both for Fistral Beech, which our cocker spaniel enjoyed and the 10-15 min stroll into Newquay experiencing wonderful views along the way. The house was spacious, airy, very clean and well equipped; it suited our family needs totally and was a perfect home from home environment. A local, very welcoming and friendly Surfer Bar not 3 mins from the doorstep provided a suitable watering hole and a pleasant evening meal in their lovely sunny garden. Also not more than 3 mins away is the aptly named, as I saw The Eagles the week prior to our holiday, and not to be missed Hotel California. An evening drink watching the sunset over the Ganel Estuary has for me, to be a highlight of our holiday. Local takeaways were prompt, reasonably priced, delicious and recommended at the surfer's bar as, both strangely and disappointingly no reference to local attractions/drinking haunts/restaurants/takeaways could be found in Dritwood House. Risso's Pizza, Wa Hing were particularly good. Two locations for an entertaining family day out we found to be particularly good were the local Zoo but special mention to Lappa Valley Steam Railway should be made . It is only a twenty minute drive away but the experience for an active two year old little girl was wonderful. A lovely holiday helped by our Blue Chip experience thank you.

Location excellent. The house has everything you need for self catering property. However lacking in basic cleaning equipment such as a mop. Rained a little and can not help having wet dog paw prints on laminate floors so a mop would have been handy. Property comfortable but a little unloved in some ways. Needed painting; floor boards exceptionally creaky: rug in lounge dirty as well as doors. Garden overgrown with weeds. Expensive for the quality.
