Watergate Bay offers everything that you need for an amazing beachside experience. An array of extreme sports, including surfing, mountain boarding, kitesurfing, traction-kiting and wave-skiing are just some of the adrenaline-fuelled activities available from The Extreme Sports Academy, located right on the beach. The Jamie Oliver inspired Fifteen restaurant sits above the Academy and has been rated as one of the ‘Top Five Beachside Restaurants in the World’.The shops restaurants and bars of Newquay are within a short drive as is the legendary surfing beach, Fistral, offering some of the finest surfing conditions in the world.During May, the annual ‘Run To The Sun’, festival takes places attracting Volkswagen Bug and Bus enthusiasts from all over the UK, whilst August sees some of the world's best surfers descend on Newquay for the 'Newquay Boardmasters Festival'. As well as being a fantastic surfing spectacular, there is also a skate competition, and with live music throughout the weekend, the event is sure to entertain all of the family.

We've had a fantastic week at Watergate bay. Body boarding, surfing (for beginners) coastal walks or just relaxing on the beach with a book. It's been great to see the dramatic cliffs, to capture the different moods of the weather out in the horizon and to watch the unspoilt sunsets. It has made such a refreshing change from land locked Derbyshire where we come from. Thank you for letter us stay at your well thought out apartment and for all the extra bits you have added to make us feel so welcome

Had another great week at Watergate Bay. The apartment is fantastic. Had a lovely meal at Nathan Outlaws restaurant at rock. Recommend when going to St. Ives to try Pel's crepes - outstanding, worth going to St Ives just for them
