About this property

Ideally located for touring all of Cornwall and close to the magnificent Lizard Peninsula, this stunning, ground-floor barn conversion rests in the pretty village of Praze-an-Beeble. Renovated to a superb standard while keeping in touch with the original framework of the barn, Nana's Cottage is well-suited for a small family or one or two couples looking for a quality base to explore Cornwall from. The focal point of the property is the stylish, open-plan living area, where you can sink into the large L shaped sofa and catch up on your favourite programmes whilst the woodburner crackles in the background. The kitchen has a contemporary design and is well-equipped with a coffee machine, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and electric oven, along with modern grey units and a bespoke oak breakfast bar that seats four. Continuing to impress, the chic master bedroom is complete with grey wood panelling and a luxurious en-suite with an elegant tiled shower wall. There is also a zip/link twin room which can be arranged as a king-size upon request, served by a beautiful bathroom with velux window and original beaming. Step out onto the decking and enjoy a drink from the outdoor furniture, surrounded by a lovely glass balustrade. Walk into the village of Praze-an-Beeble to find a pretty selection of shops and eateries, in addition to the much-loved St Aubyn Arms, a ‘steak and ale’ pub and restaurant which serves a fine range of cask ales, and vegan and gluten free options. You may also stumble across the popular Philps bakery and pasty shop, the local’s choice for what are commonly regarded as the finest pasties in the county. Nana's Cottage is conveniently placed for days-out to the beach, with just a 20-minute drive to the picturesque Hayle Towans and the lively resort of St Ives and the landmark of St Michaels Mount at Marazion within 12.5 mile radius. Why not escape to the Lizard Peninsula and walk along the thick harbour walls at Mullion Cove or take a diving trip and discover dozens of shipwrecks off the notorious Manacles rocks? With plenty to fill your to-do list, and a superb barn conversion to return to, a holiday at Nana's Cottage is sure to be one to remember.

The hob was working fine when we were there at Christmas and no issues were reported by previous guests. It is an induction hob (which was selected for safety reasons) and therefore, is more complex to use than a gas or electric one. We recommend that everyone reads the instruction manual provided in the Welcome Folder. We'll ask our cleaner to look at it to make sure there isn't a fault, before incurring the cost of calling out an engineer unnecessarily. Bed - was made up as a double as our cleaner had assumed that as the cottage was booked for 4 adults, that's what they'd want. She rectified it within hours of the issue being raised to me and me passing it on to her, despite us currently being out of the country. Pans - There is a large selection of pans, roasting trays, Pyrex dishes, etc. Again, they were fine when we were there at Christmas and neither previous guests nor our cleaner have not commented. Drains/Gate - We regularly have the drains cleared by our gardeners, however, due to the constant rain we've experienced recently, and the fact that it all runs down the track and into our property, they can get backed up. The gate opened and closed freely when we were there at Christmas, and neither our cleaner or gardener has commented on this to us. We like people to keep the gate closed, as we've had comments from previous guests about our neighbours dogs getting in. However, if they find the gates difficult to close, or the area is muddy, then obviously we would not expect them still try to close them and cause themselves an injury. The customer contacted us via email regarding the beds on the day they arrived and the issue was resolved within a matter of hours. Had they contacted us about any of the other issues during their stay, (rather than waiting until after they left and gave us bad feedback), then we could've tried to assist in resolving them.

Went to use dyson. It was full up and tangled around brush head. So spent time declogging it. Not pleasant. A lovely barn conversion though. Very quiet mostly A constant problem with me personally is finding a place with high bed and at least one compfy chair. Not six inches off the ground like so many are. We noticed your sofa and I used my wheelchair indoors as too low so we managed. We appreciate not everyone is six foot and limited mobility. We would probably book again as useful location for us.

Beds were comfortable and cottage was spacious. We had an issue with the fridge during our stay. We contacted the owner who was very responsive and sorted the problem quickly. My only disappointment was that the owner knew there was an issue with the fridge prior to our stay but hadn’t attempted to resolve the problem. Other than this the stay was fantastic location idyllic and neighbours very helpful. Thanks
