About this property

Set in the Tamar Valley Resort, this villa-style lodge offers reverse-living accommodation in the town of Callington, South East Cornwall. Unwind in a spacious and relaxing rural retreat with an array of activities, a fabulous holiday for the fun-seeking family. The three bedrooms are bright and spacious, the master bedroom oozes comfort and with a door leading out to a decked area, it’s the perfect peaceful escape before the day of fun begins! Then it’s upstairs to the open plan living area, a great space where the whole family can spend time together. Open up the doors to the balcony and enjoy an outdoor feast or just some relaxation time with your favourite tipple. No need for bored children – there are countless activities on-site from splashing in the indoor and outdoor pools to activities (seasonal, subject to availability, extra charges apply) such as rock climbing, archery, canoeing and abseiling and in the evening, pop along to the bar and leave the cooking at home! If you fancy a day away from the activities, this lodge is ideally placed to explore Cornwall or pop over the border and into Devon. There are countless attractions nearby and the National Park of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are within easy driving distance, giving you the chance of rambling across rugged moors, spotting wild ponies and topped off with a great picnic. Whitsand Bay has a beautiful sandy beach framed by dramatic scenery and sheer cliffs and is perfect for dipping your toes and sunbathing. Whether you wish to forget the car and enjoy all the on-site facilities or mix it up with touring this wonderful location, this is a great lodge for a fun-packed family holiday.

Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties Callington offers a good selection of restaurants and pubs. Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are amazing views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound.

Peaceful. Well equipped. Everything that we needed was there.

However there are a few tiny niggles. The shower floors are quite slippery so provision of a small grab rails and rubber mats would be helpful for those unsteady on their feet. A small ouside covered bin for dog poo would be useful. There is a sharp edge on the top corner of the radiator at the bottom of the double bed on which I caught my clothes several times tearing a hole in one shirt. There were some issues with the TV this time.. Lost Freeview and had ro contact the owner who sorted the probkem quickly. Then we lost Netflix..and couldn't get subtitles up at all. which normally are easily found A basic guide on how to solve these issues would be helpful as yous don't sant to disturb the owner if it"s late evening. These things aside the lodge provides excellent accommodation which we would use again without hesitation.

A good position on the site too, right next to a stream, very pretty and peaceful. This lodge is 4* to me and has every essential included for a comfortable stay with dogs allowed too. The site is central to exploring Cornwall with excellent beaches within a 30 min drive and lots of tourist attractions nearby. Highly recommend and would definitely book again if staying in the area.
