About this property

A 3 bedroom detached barn conversion, sleeps 6. Large lawned garden with mature trees with a small stream and pond.

Mowhay Barn is a detached stone barn conversion on a working farm, set in over an acre of grounds. From here, there are excellent far reaching views of the River Tamar, the city of Plymouth and beyond towards Dartmoor.

Internally, the charming barn is set over three floors and offers spacious open plan living spaces with fantastic rolling countryside views. The beautiful conservatory, furnished with seating, is the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring. Externally, the large lawned garden is furnished with a table, chairs, sun loungers and barbeque. The garden gives stunning views of the rolling countryside which extends towards Dartmoor.

Torpoint acts as the gateway to Cornwall with boats ferrying passengers across this scenic stretch of the River Tamar. Most recently the area has gained significant exposure thanks in large to the National Trust property Antony House, the location for filming of Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, which is open to the public.

The historic villages of Kingsand and Cawsand offer a haven of peace and tranquillity. Relax on the beach or in one of the village pubs or cafes or take a stroll through the narrow streets of colour washed cottages and shops that follow. Mount Edgecombe House and Country Park are within easy reach and provide a great day out for all the family with stunning Grade I Cornish gardens and the historic house to explore.

Visit the historic naval city of Plymouth which is just across the river. With highlights including Smeaton’s Tower on Plymouth Hoe, The Barbican area home to the Mayflower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers departed and Saltram Estate positioned alongside the River Plym. Plymouth is also home to the National Marine Aquarium, Britain’s deepest aquarium tank providing fun for all the family no matter what the weather. No visit to Devon would be complete without visiting rugged Dartmoor National Park, granite moorland flowing with panoramic beauty and wildlife around every corner.
