About this property

... 50 yards from the bridge and riverside village green in Altarnun, a Grade II listed cottage, sitting prettily, end-of-row in a small terrace with a burbling mill leat passing the front door. Reached by footbridges, it is surrounded by a good-sized, enclosed garden, sheltered and well-planted, partly-lawned, with raised slate terrace (tables/chairs) looking to the church and sheep and pony-grazed fields behind.

Inside, beautifully restored with original charm and modern comforts. Slate footbridge across leat to front door (guarded by gate) into beamed living/dining room (TV/DVD/PVR) with big inglenook fireplace (woodburner), comfy seating for 4 and window seats. Smartly fitted, well-equipped kitchen (dishwasherwasher-driermicrowavefridge-freezer, cooker with induction hob) with breakfast table (church views), and drying room with back door to garden/terrace. Stairs (5’11” beam at bottom) up to two pretty bedrooms – a double (5’ bed), and one with double and single bed. Bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Care needed, especially with children and pets, as footbridges/leat are unfenced. Choice of good food pubs within 1 mile. A great base for exploring moors and north and south coasts, with easy access (1 mile) to A30.

"The cottage was very clean and cosy in a fabulous location with easy access to the moor and both North and South coasts. Handy for the village shop. It is also dog friendly with a good enclosed garden and welcome pack for four-legged visitors!"
