We visited Ladera in January, prior to arrival, we were contacted and told we could check in early which was perfect for us, we told 2 different staff members we would be there for a specific time, but nobody was there to greet us and found it hard work getting hold of anyone for further help. After a long journey we needed to get our baby fed etc, we ended up in the lodge not intended for us, which was very awkward when the other guests arrived. Facilities within the lodge were good but not ‘luxury’ hot tub was perfect which we were happy with but the decking needed refurbishment and glass panels were scruffy which tainted the outlook. The way this is advertised is slightly misleading, the animals were not onsite and hadn’t been for a while we were told, a huge letdown for our daughter as this was a good selling point for us. The plough inn pub nearby was fantastic, with great food and only a 2 minute drive.Overall if you want to stay in a lodge with a hot tub for a relaxing weekend it does tick this box, but if you expect luxury, you will be slightly disappointed, this is definitely more equipped for couples and not families. The general communication and transaction of the deposit was a big letdown for us, and would put us off rebooking with hoseasons.

Looks wise, the lodge itself was stunning. Sit on the sofas, you will feel every spring! Lie in the beds- uncomfortable as I don't know what! The pillows on the beds were your basic asda range and stained! The toilet seats were useless- one of the clips were broken so moved side to side. Kitchen glasses were all cracked. No head cushions on the hot tub. Bbq unuseable- hadn't been cleaned and rubbish left inside! Veranda from main bedroom all covered in leaves so couldn't use. Shower plug was completely blocked so water flowed into the bathroom- we had to clean the plug out ourselves! Advertised as having animals on site (from what the pictures show) and we asked upon check in and was told were to see them- we went for our walk to find the farm to be told by the farmer that we shouldn't be within 50m of the fence! We obviously tried our best to enjoy our stay but these things did put a bit of a dampner on things.

We staying in Lodge 4 and it was perfect. Clean, all amenities that you would want and a lovely place for a weekend away.
