"Lovely old thatched cottage with a large, dog friendly, wrap around garden. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge and bedroom. Two dog friendly pubs within 5 minutes walk in the lovely village. The cottage is on a non-through road so it is quiet, and a walk along the road takes you to footpaths down to the Mersey with a pleasant walk along the shore. 5 minutes to the main road network with easy links in to Wales, Chester etc, or direct drive into Liverpool (bus stop in the village if you don't want to drive). Highly recommended and we will be back."

"Everything you need and more in the cottage. A sandwich maker, toaster, iron, washing machine. The owners do everything to make you feel welcome and it's even nicer than on the pictures. Highly recommended!! Every little detail in the house speaks of the love the owners have for the cottage."
    Alan ‐ 27 Jul 2018
"We wanted a base to explore Liverpool and do some family cycling (canals). The cottage has an ideal location (a tranquil village close to the airport) for walking and cycling. It is cosy, very well equipped and Julie & Simon were very welcoming (offering to store our bikes securely). Two of us are allergic to dogs so we were a little nervous that this might be a problem as animals are welcome in the cottage, but this was not an issue as the cottage was very clean.Lots of local birdlife/animal life at the cottage and on local walks (ponies of course, wrens, herons, bats, dragonflies, even a seal). It's proximity to the city allowed a blend of quiet village life and busy city action. We would happily return, a week was not long enough."

"We found the cottage to be a lovely place to stay and unwind for a few days. Julie was great, very helpful, and we were able to follow her advice for walks and getting out and about. We would certainly stay there again. Oscar the dog enjoyed the enclosed garden and we were delighted that he could be allowed to wander around without fear of escaping. All in all, a great break and somewhere we'd go to again."

"Beautiful location and owner very kind and helpful. Good dog walking from the cottage and lovely garden. Off street parking welcome. Bus service to Liverpool very good."
    Fiona ‐ 27 May 2018
"This is a gem of a cottage with a beautiful garden, a piece of local history, set in a peaceful & friendly village, lots of countryside for walks, local shops & places to eat out, great food.Fantastic hosts too.We used it as a base to visit Liverpool without staying in the city & it was perfect with a direct bus service. It's well located for visiting the wider area, there's so much to see, another trip beckons!"
