About this property

This lovely cottage is located overlooking the village church in the heart of the delightful, award-winning village of Audlem, Cheshire. This pretty, mid-terrace cottage offers the perfect base for a family holiday exploring the local area. The cottage, designed by a local architect and set in a conservation area, has been styled with care and attention to create a peaceful retreat. From private parking in the communal electronic gated courtyard, a short path leads to the front door, opening into a welcoming sitting room forming the hub of the home. A modern fitted kitchen with a dining area creates a great area to socialise around a home-prepared meal, or perhaps just visit one of the local eateries in the village if you feel like an evening away from the stove. Upstairs, there is a double sleigh bed in the master bedroom, supported by an en-suite shower room with rainfall shower, a bunk bedroom with beds suitable for adults and children alike, and a small cot room (or dressing room if preferred). Outside this delightful cottage, the rear garden is fully enclosed, and offers a patio area where you can sit and enjoy the border shrubs, listen to the chimes of the church bells and relax in the peace and quiet of the location. On the doorstep, you will discover all the amenities of the village, including coffee shops, delicatessens, a grocery store and three local gastro-pubs, two of which are located beside the Shropshire Union Canal, which runs through the village and leads to the nearby marina. The village square and 13th century Church of St James are next door, and local activities regularly occur, including Proms in the Park, an ever-popular bonfire night and many boat festivals and carnivals throughout the year. With so much going on in the area you will be spoilt for choice with what to do from day to day, and eager to return to create further great memories.

The village of Audlem is set amongst wonderful countryside on the Cheshire/Shropshire border. Running alongside the village you will find the Shropshire Union canal, with its 15 locks, where walks along the towpath, now called the Weaver Way, and through the meadows can be enjoyed. Audlem provides an active community centre where regular live music, parties, events, badminton and snooker are on offer, plus there are three village pubs, two on the canal itself and one in the village centre, a tourist office and many shops offering local souvenirs and gifts.

It gave us chance to catch up with family and friends, but also gave us our own independence of ‘living in a home away from home’ for the week. We will be back in contact with 4 Aldelyme Court in the future and after other holiday commitments. Thank you for a great stay. Derek and Pam Jones.

Adequate amount of shops within walking distance including a great fish and chip shop and cafe. Superb ice cream in the post office, two pubs, one on the Canal and a Coop too. We'll placed to visit National trust properties in the area and also various gardens. Never got to meet the owners which was a shame. Very impressed with the cottage and area and if finances and personal circumstances allowed would buy a cottage in Audlem. We're lucky with the weather too!!
