Particularly popular with lovers of the countryside, Head Fen Country Retreat have 4 fishing lakes on-site, The Reservoir, Snake Lake, Trev’s Lake and Tosh’s Lake available for visitors ad £35 per person. We’re just 10 minutes from Welney Wetlands Centre and we sit right on the Hereward Way long distant walking route.

Egret 2 Lodge was a very nice and cosy getaway. It was the perfect size and fully equipt with everything you need in a self catering place - including netflix and amazon prime built into the tvs! Hot tub was very nice and plenty of heating provided for colder weather. Everything was very clean and we had a very friendly welcome. There is not much around scenery wise if you like walking but if you like to fish there are plenty of spots on the retreat. My only suggestion would be to bring your own knife set if you're planning on chopping stuff as the ones provided weren't good quality. Overall we were very happy with our stay :)
