Located the end of a quiet country lane are two delightful semi-detached cottages providing luxury living for those wishing to escape for some peace and tranquillity. Larger families and groups of friends looking to holiday together will love what’s on offer at three bedroom Lavender Cottage and two bedroom Rosemary Cottage. Both cottages feature wood burning stoves, well-equipped kitchens, comfortable bedrooms and lovely rural views across 60 acres of unspoilt countryside. And there’s a large dining table in Lavender Cottage so everyone can sit together to enjoy family meals. They’re within easy reach of Bath (13 miles), Longleat (13 miles) and other local attractions. A special benefit of the properties is access to the dedicated 100mbps fibre internet connection.
The Vobster Inn is within easy walking distance and the area offers many local attractions for those wishing to explore further afield. It’s just down the road from Babington House, part of the Soho House Group. The Village Shop in Mells has a charming Café, and family gastro style pubs include The Talbot at Mells and the Archangel in Frome town centre, both of which have lovely outside dining areas. Vobster Quay is adjacent to the farm for those that wish to have a Scuba Diving experience.
The Cottages are part of Upper Vobster Farm and as guests you will be welcome to enjoy all that is on offer there. It extends to 60 acres made up of fields, woodland, lakes and ponds and crossed by a number of footpaths making it easy to explore and offering the perfect escape to nature. Spot wildlife along the forest footpaths or visit the farm’s animals including a flock of North Ronaldsay rare breed sheep, pygmy goats, various ducks, which live in their own miniature castle, and a mixture of hens. Take a walk to one of the two lakes, one with a beach and the other near an old stone bridge that leads you on to the old drovers way. Grasses and wildflowers are abundant in summer, bluebells and wild garlic in spring and numerous fungi in autumn. Winter frosts leave an enchanting feel to treasure when you’re all wrapped up and can come back to a warm fire.
The cottages can also be booked individually as Lavender Cottage sleeping six guests and Rosemary Cottage sleeping four guests. St. Edmunds court is also available to book.
