Villa Denis is an impressive looking house, set into a hillside two kilometres above Benissa’s coast and just eight kilometres from the old town centre. With its private pool and sheltered palm tree garden, it’s perfectly located for your holiday on the Costa Blanca.

Sleeping six guests, the accommodation is found all on one level. Sharing two bathrooms, there are three twin bedrooms, all simply furnished with cooling white walls and tiled floors. The small but well-appointed kitchen adjoins the large open-plan lounge and dining room. This is the most wonderful, social space. Here, everyone can come together for mealtimes, chat about the day and relax. The dining room sits in the curved end of the house, boasting five beautiful arched windows.

Move outside and you’re immediately onto the quite incredible covered terrace, which runs the full length of Villa Denis. The broad archways are supported by a high ceiling featuring exposed beams. The elevated position and the cooling shade make this the most perfect of al fresco dining rooms. You even have a built-in barbecue right there!

Steps lead you down from here to your pool terrace. There is a sun lounger for everyone plus table and chairs for pool-side coffee or afternoon drinks. Lazy hours will pass easily down here, after a few energetic lengths in your private pool of course. The luxury of your private space continues with a lawned garden, dotted with Mediterranean plants and a beautiful bank of palm trees provides welcome shade and privacy.

Just a short drive downhill, and you’ll arrive at Baladrar beach. This pebbly cove is small but delightful, and the Mediterranean Sea tempts you in for a swim. Benissa’s town centre only fifteen minutes’ drive inland from Villa Denis. One of the oldest towns in the Costa Blanca region, it’s a medieval experience full of authentic Spanish charm. As you travel around, you’ll appreciate how amazingly green and lush the countryside is. This part of the world is famed for seemingly endless sunshine accompanied by a cooling breeze. Perfect for orange and almond trees, and perfect for your holiday in Villa Denis.

Surrounded by trees and other villas, Villa Denis is located in a residential area but it’s nestled amongst hills and picturesque countryside. A short drive brings you to Benissa’s three-mile coastline, Cala Baladrar being the closest beach. The contrast of the rocks and pebbles make the blue of the sea even more dazzling and you’ll find a beach-side tapas bar here, to keep everyone going.

Travel further up the coast to discover a broad sandy beach at l’Ampolla or north at La Fustera. These are both great for spending the entire day on the golden sand or in the calm Mediterranean Sea. There are fun activities at the shore, playgrounds and bars and restaurants beach-side.

If you fancy a day’s sightseeing, a fifteen-minute drive up hill from Villa Denis will bring you to Benissa. At a lofty 275 metres above sea level, it’s a thriving town today but it’s ancient centre is a popular destination for visitors from all over the Costa Blanca. The medieval market square, houses, narrow cobbled streets and town hall all enjoyed considerable restoration in the 1980s and 1990s. It’s full of character and a joy to walk around. Be sure to sample the local delicacy of cured sausage in a bar or restaurant and if you’re lucky, you’ll coincide with one of the many fiestas or street markets held throughout the year.

As you head back towards your private villa and pool for one last swim, before dinner on the terrace, stop en-route. The panoramic views from the steep, winding roads leading down from Benissa are stunning.
