Casa Marillen’s huge, mature garden with swimming pool and various terraces is fabulous. Although it is situated in the countryside, the villa is located is just outside the historic town of Alcudia and within walking distance of the lovely Mal Pas and Manresa beaches. It has two double bedrooms and sleeps 4 guests.
Alcudia’s Medieval Old Town is wonderfully atmospheric with narrow, cobbled streets, charming restaurants, chic boutiques, ancient ruins and a buzzy open-air market. The beaches are stunning and incredibly popular with families.
Casa Marillen is very traditional and furnished in a typical, rustic style. The high wooden beamed ceilings and stone walls are all part of the charm. The large sitting room has a whole wall of glass doors opening to the terrace, so is brightly illuminated. The kitchen/diner is again traditional and very spacious.
The master bedroom has a double bed and a separate bathroom. The twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The views from the bedrooms of the gardens are lovely.
Outside is where this villa comes into its own. The 4000 sqm plot is very attractive with many mature plants and trees. It makes you feel very secluded and relaxed. The pool is lovely, and the covered terraces offer alfresco dining and a games area with table tennis.
Alcudia Old Town is very romantic with its Romeo, and Juliet balconies sprinkled along the narrow cobbled streets. The Old Town is brimming with cozy coffee shops, unique boutiques and amazing restaurants. The Roman museum and the Roman ruins just outside the walls will give you an idea of its history. Port Alcudia’s 3 km Blue Flag beach offers many watersports as well as fine, golden sands and crystal clear water. The picturesque marina boasts many cafes and restaurants.
Golf fanatics will be very happy on Mallorca. There are nineteen 18-hole courses, the most scenic being Alcanada Golf Course which is close to the villa. It was opened in 2003, and the greens all replaced in 2019. The course is right next to the sea with pine, olive and oak trees and the mountains of the Sierra de Levante making an impressive background. T-Golf and Country Club, which was formally the Poniente Golf Course, is extremely popular and runs through beautiful rolling hills. Son Gual, just outside of Palma, offers great views as well as being a fantastic course.
Although Palma is the airport city, it is worth taking time to explore. The cathedral boasts spectacular views from the roof terrace. The Old Town is beautiful and the grand plazas stunning. The halls of seafood, fruit and vegetables at Olivar Market are very tempting though, of course, you could be on your way to board your plane!
Pollensa is also an ancient town which has a wonderful blend of beautiful architecture with cosmopolitan and modern tourist attractions. The steep main street, Puig de Pollenca, leads you to an ancient Medieval monastery dating back to 1348 with views across the mountains and to the Mediterranean beyond. Again, there is a fabulous choice of restaurants and bars.
