This stunning townhouse, located just a ten-minute drive from the nearest beach, is an absolute dream holiday home for lovers of Spanish architecture. With its elegant whitewashed walls and terracotta floors, heavy wooden beams, and stone arches and staircase, Villa Tanit offers a real taste of traditional Mallorcan living with a modern touch.
The living area is decorated in a classic white and grey, with comfortable sofas and soft furnishings, well-crafted wooden furniture, and a wall-mounted flat screen TV, offering the perfect space for rest and relaxation. From here, you can step out onto the stunning covered terrace, where you’ll find an alfresco dining area overlooking your private pool.
The incredibly spacious kitchen/diner is located through a stone arch behind the lounge and features everything you’ll need during your stay to enjoy busy breakfasts and sumptuous family dinners. The well-equipped kitchen space is complete with a hob and oven, microwave, coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher - so no arguments over who’s going to do the washing up during your stay!
When you ascend the stone staircase to the first floor of Villa Tanit, you’ll discover one twin and one double bedroom, both featuring fitted wardrobes and a shared bathroom that has both a bath and a shower. The twin room boasts its own balcony, offering guests the ideal space for enjoying a morning coffee or juice while taking in the incredible views across the rooftops of Pollensa. The second floor is home to the gorgeous master bedroom, which features both an ensuite bathroom and an adjoining living area - perfect for extra privacy.
If you’re planning on holidaying at Villa Tanit during the months of July and August, you and your guests will be able to enjoy access to the separate two-storey guest house that is situated on the grounds next to the main villa. This beautiful extra space can accommodate two additional guests and features a living area and well-equipped kitchen, as well as a double bedroom and shower room on the first floor. The presence of the guest house makes Villa Tanit an excellent choice for two or more family or friendship groups who are travelling together, offering extra privacy where needed.
Villa Tanit benefits from being centrally located in the heart of the beautiful old town of Pollensa and all that it has to offer, with historical attractions, bars, restaurants and shops just a few minutes away on foot. It’s worth noting that although the town is small and easy to explore, it can be steep and uneven in places, so good footwear is essential! Once suitably shod; however, you’ll find a vibrant mix of cultures that have influenced the architecture and monuments in the town over thousands of years, including the medieval church and watchtower. On Sundays, the main square is home to a bustling street market, where you’ll be able to purchase fresh local produce such as fruits and vegetables, bread, meats and olive oil before heading to one of the many local bars or cafes for a hot coffee, refreshing juice, or a well-earned glass of delicious local wine.
A popular attraction with visitors to Pollensa is the Calvari Steps, which lead from the Placa Major to the top of the town, where you’ll discover the beautiful little Church of Nostra Senyora dels Angels. At midday, the light spills through the church’s gorgeous stained glass windows, which really is a sight to behold, but whatever time you visit, you’ll be rewarded with this stunning building’s intricate interior, as well as some incredible views over the town. The walk isn’t an easy one - with over 300 steps! - so this might be best avoided if you’re visiting with young children.
Other town attractions include the lively battle reenactments that are held in August, as well as open-air concerts that makeup part of the Pollensa Music Festival during the summer months. If you happen to visit Pollensa in late July, you’ll be able to enjoy the festivities that surround the Moors and Christian Festival, a lively and vibrant event that culminates in a carnival on August 2nd.
If for you, a holiday in Mallorca is all about the beaches, Pollensa is just a ten-minute drive from the nearest stretches of sand. Puerto Pollensa beach is the most popular with families and has great amenities such as umbrella rental, sports facilities and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants, but if you’re looking for something a little more adventurous, we recommend heading to Can Cap Bou beach which is especially popular with kite surfers and other water sports enthusiasts.
