This villa is furnished to a high standard and has everything you’ll need for a homely stay, including a self-catering kitchen. There’s also a coffee machine and a dishwasher for a hassle-free experience. There are polished stone floors throughout the villa for an air of luxury – and along with the air conditioning – are perfect for keeping you cool in those warmer summer months.

When you’re not relaxing by the pool, you can find your prime sunbathing spot on the roof terrace. By night, kick back on the comfy leather sofa in the spacious living room – with television – after a busy day of exploring before cooking on the barbeque and dining on the indoor or alfresco table.

The five bedrooms can sleep up to 10 – four have en-suite bathrooms and there are two more family bathrooms, too. It’s also worth noting that three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor – one double en-suite, one twin en-suite and one twin, and all of them with direct access to the garden. These rooms are ideal for those who would like some extra space or have limited mobility.

The basement has a separate laundry room, plus a games room with a table, tennis table and table football – perfect for keeping kids and young-at-heart adults entertained. And when you’d like to go exploring, you’re only moments away from the town with its marina, soft-sand beaches, shops, restaurants and cafes. There are also plenty of supermarkets here for picking up your produce.

Villa Ivy is in a peaceful spot in the pretty seaside town of Vilamoura in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The charming area is known for its buzzing marina dotted with luxury yachts and is lined with elegant bars and authentic Portuguese restaurants.

There are also plenty of top-notch golf courses and sandy beaches with calm waters and golden sands. In fact, the villa is located in the heart of Oceanico Pinhal Golf Course, and there more nearby. You’ve also got some fascinating history here, too, courtesy of the town’s Roman ruins.

The Roman ruins are just 100 metres from Vilamoura’s marina. Here, you’ll find an ancient fishing village, complete with old wall murals and a bathing complex. After a day of exploring here, you can enjoy fresh seafood at the marina. The town is also the perfect place for shopping, with a wide range of shops and supermarkets. As for the nightlife, there are plenty of bars and clubs here, too.

If you’re a sports fan, there are over 50 outdoor tennis courts in the club next to the marina. Horse riding, sailing, windsurfing and jet skiing are also must-dos here. You could also hire a boat for the day or hop on a boat trip to explore the more untouched corners of the coastline.

For beaches, Vilamoura is your go-to. There’s also Praia da Falesia with its 5km of pristine golden sands, and pretty Praia de Vilamoura beach which leads to the fishing harbour in Quarteira. The region surrounding Vilamoura is culturally rich, and can also be discovered with day trips. The historic city of Faro and the market town of Loule are both fantastic choices.
