The friendly village of Terryglass offers two pubs and restaurants, and a shop for essential amenities, whilst the busy town of Portumna is less than six miles away, where you will find a larger supermarket among various other shops. The beautiful Portumna Castle is well worth a visit, or why not rent a boat and sail Lough Derg? Fishing, horse riding, water activities and walking can all be enjoyed within easy reach, and for a day trip to remember, just over an hour away is the cultural city of Galway waiting to be discovered. Terryglass is a village set in the northern part of County Tipperary, offering two pubs and behind Paddys Pub is a wall, which once belonged to an abbey. The village has two historic wells the Eyewell and the Headache well, which are both said to have healing powers, plus every August the Terryglass Arts Festival takes place. A superb location for experiencing a perfect Irish getaway.
