The village of Allihies in County Cork overlooks Ballydonegan Bay with its magnificent quartz strand, a direct result of the mining era. The village lies on The Ring of Beara, a tourist trail of about 195 kilometres (121 miles) circumnavigating the peninsula. Attractions nearby include Dursey Island, which is linked to the mainland by a Cable Car and is the only such ride in Europe to cross over water. There are also many coastal and countryside walks and quaint villages to enjoy.

    .some of the the best in Ireland including the Skelligs in the distance.wonderful dark sky starry nights.Some amazing sunsets.quiet relaxing location with walking trails straight from the house. Great swim spot at Balydonegan beach about 5 minutes drive away.lovely local fish and chips and pints in the village.

    Stunning location, spacious grounds. The children loved the garden. The upside down set up maximizes the space in the house. Lovely walks to be had in the surrounding areas. Perfect to use as a base to explore but also just to lounge around and relax in. Would definitely book again.
