High Nelly Cottage offers a characterful holiday home, and with its typical exposed beams and old range set in the kitchen, it provides the perfect place for your traditional Irish getaway. Enter the property through an old-fashionable stable door into the sociable open plan living area. To the right you’ll find a kitchen complete with a range cooker, the heart of this captivating cottage, where you can prepare delicious meals for all to enjoy, and to your left you will find the sitting area, with a dining table separating the two spaces. So after dinner, you can retire to the comfy sofas and relax with your feet up in front of the electric stove whilst planning tomorrow’s adventures. Set over two floors, two bedrooms with character beams and sloping ceilings sit on the mezzanine level, overlooking the living space below and offering compact and comfortable accommodation and a wonderful night’s rest. Back on the ground floor, a second stable door opens out to the rear garden where pets and little ones can play as you sit with a well-earned drink and enjoy the summer’s breeze. Just a short walk down the road and you’ll find the local pub. The small town of Rathdowney is less than ten minutes’ drive away and has a convenient selection of amenities and a golf club should you wish to work on your swing. Less than 9 miles away is the town of Abbeyleix with a number of historical attractions and the city of Kilkenny is within driving distance. Or why not put on those walking boots and visit the stunning Slieve Bloom Mountains to enjoy the superb scenery?
