Followed on then by a relaxing evening watching a DVD enjoying the surround sound on offer. If the evenings are feeling a bit chilly, light up the cosy stove and enjoy being in the comfort while looking out on the sun setting over the bay. Arthurstown itself is a gorgeous picturesque little village. Apart from the view that will entertain you alone, you can enjoy a music session every Wednesday to Sunday evening during the summer in the “Kingsbay Inn” which is located just across the road, along with some wholesome local cuisine. If you fancy treating yourself to a special night, you can book yourself a table in celebrity chefs, Kevin Dunden’s, impressive “Dunbrody House” located just up the road. On the grounds of Dunbrody House there is also a more relaxed dining option “The Local”, where a relaxing drink can be enjoyed too. The fabulous Duncannon Beach is only 3 miles away, a beach that is very popular with kite surfers, so sit back on your sun chair and enjoy the entertainment on show. There are numerous other beaches to explore along the coast too. You could always take the car ferry down the road in Ballyhack over to Passage East in Waterford. Waterford has so much to offer, you’ll be in Waterford city in 20 minutes, where there is a multitude of things on offer from history, shopping and the impressive Waterford Crystal experience. On your way back to the car ferry take a detour to the delightful fishing village of Dunmore East. Finish the day off with fish and chips sitting on the beach front. Another day of exploring could be spent visiting one of the worlds oldest lighthouse in Hook Head and the dramatic coastline. In the area also is Loftus Hall, which is said to be haunted! So if you enjoy a bit of adventure this is a must on your list. However you decide to spend your holiday be it action packed or a relaxing break this property and its fabulous location won't disappoint.
Nestled in a small bay in the south west corner of Wexford, Arthurstown looks out across the bay to Waterford. This village may be small but it oozes personality and offers some of Wexford’s most stunning coastal routes for travelling by foot, bike or car. Just two miles away is the fishing village of Duncannon, which boasts a sandy beach, a couple of pubs and restaurants, as well as the annual International Sand Sculpting and Kite Surfing Festivals. Within easy reach are the popular villages of Fethard-on-Sea, Wellingtonbridge and Kilmore Quay, plus there are a host of other attractions in the area including the Hook Head Peninsula with the oldest working lighthouse in the world, the JFK Arboretum, Dunbrody famine ship, the town of Wexford, and further afield is the city of Waterford, which is famous for its crystal. Arthurstown is an excellent base to begin your Wexford holiday.
