The owner hugely welcoming and helpful. A very pleasant location, just 5 minutes from Enniscorthy (shops, bars, restaurants) and surrounded by lovely countryside for walks.

Both bathrooms had to be immediately and thoroughly cleaned to remove dirt, dust, hairs and cobwebs. The walls around the toilets had splashes on from the toilet brushes, and the walls around the sinks had soap and water marks. All the toilet brushes are disgusting, including all 3 in one bathroom. The floors made the cleaning cloths filthy. Most of the towels, once we found them, had marks on them. We also had to clean the kitchen, including the table which was sticky. The broom & dustpan/brush were in desperate need of replacement, as does the microwave which had brown stains inside it. The air fryer and steamer were also badly stained. There was no welcome package left (milk, bread, etc), just some leftover oat milk and sauces in the fridge, and what appeared to be a very tiny bit of mince in the freezer. Both lounge suites had been replaced: there is now a choice of one so squidgy it caused backache and was never used again, and the other that is so solid, upright & uncomfortable that we never sat on it. There were family photos on walls, mantles and shelves, which felt very wrong, plus shelves & windowsills were full of ornaments and various (mostly non working) clocks, all of which were covered indust, cobwebs and dead flies. The bullfighting rug in one lounge is very offensive, and the round rug in a bedroom was so thick with dust it was awful. It appears there is a lot of storage, but almost every cupboard and drawer we opened in the bedrooms was full of books, magazines, clothing and bedding. The washing line was just old frayed rope, and having put the first load of washing on it, it snapped as soon as I tried to pull it up, so we had to immediately go and buy some line and replace it. The only garden seating is a bench set, or if you can get past all the old furniture in the garage, we could see 2 white plastic chairs & 1 folding one. There were no instructions on how to work anything, including the heating, & there was no starter fuel packs as stated. We found the dishwasher full when we arrived, so had to sort that out. We had no need of a highchair, but very glad as I wouldn't have put a baby in it without scrubbing it first. Most of the information leaflets are very out of date, so of little use. And the final awful thing was being bitten by fleas on my legs whilst in the house! The only 2 good things were the views and the comfortable beds.

Well equipped. My only real criticism is that there was a lot of unnecessary stuff in the house, including family photographs. This gave it a feeling that you were living in someone else's house rather than a holiday let.
