About this property

Blackwater 1 mile. Dawnies Seahouse is a lovely, thatched cottage surrounded by rich, rural farmlands, just a stone's throw away from the beach, close to the village of Blackwater, County Wexford. A traditional cottage with a thatched roof and stone walls, the cottage is adjacent to a farm, whilst the interior has been lovingly renovated with contemporary home comforts. You'll find plenty of off-road parking on arrival, as well as a front courtyard with furniture to sit back with a cold beverage and enjoy your surroundings. Inside, the well-equipped kitchen and utility have everything you need for a self-catering stay, whether that's whipping up delicious meals or cleaning sandy towels in the washing machine. Relax with your loved ones in the living/dining room with a dining table, two sofas, and plenty of entertainment including a TV with FreeSat and DVD player; settle down for a film night or choose a book from the generous selection! Alternatively, step out into your private, lawned garden to host dinner on the barbecue on summer evenings. As night falls, freshen up in the shower room before choosing between three welcoming bedrooms; one double rests on the ground floor, whilst upstairs you'll find a twin room which leads to a family room with a king-size and single. Start your holiday with a stroll to the nearby beach, whilst larger, sandy bays await at Ballynaclash, Ballinesker and Curracloe. The village of Blackwater is close by with two pubs, a supermarket, and the popular Blackwater Coffee Company, alongside a children's playground, Blackwater Golf Course, and the family-friendly Blackwater open farm. Spend the day in Enniscorthy (Inis Córthaidh) where you'll find the 16th-century Enniscorthy Castle, mutli-media exhibits at the National 1798 Rebellion Centre, and panoramic views from the top of Vinegar Hill; be sure to stop off at a traditional, riverside bar for live music and classic Irish comfort food! The medieval town of Wexford (Loch Garman) is also nearby for The Blue Egg Gallery, a range of performances at the National Opera House, or step back in time at the Irish National Heritage Park to discover life in ancient Ireland. From your cottage, you'll have easy access to wonderful attractions throughout County Wexford such as the ruins of Tintern Abbey, Colclough Walled Garden, and Our lady's Island Lake. A delightful touring base to explore the sunny South East of Ireland, choose Dawnies Seahouse for your next family-friendly adventure.

Blackwater is 20 miles north of Rosslare ferry port. There are two shops and a few pubs in this busy village. Wexford Bay, with its 20 miles of sandy Blue Flag beaches, dunes, and nature trails, is only 2 miles away. Curracloe's southernmost beach was voted "Ireland's best beach" and featured in the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan. A vibrant traditional Irish nightlife and narrow winding streets characterise Wexford's heritage town. Other day trip ideas include shopping in Waterford for exquisite crystal ornaments and unique knitwear, or golfing on the beautiful links at St Helen's, 80 miles from Dublin.

Fully equiped with really nice features. So close to one of the best beaches in Europe. Will be back very soon!

The pictures on the website did not do the house justice as we were shocked how good it was when we arrived. The host had the house spotless for our arrival and the attention to detail was eminence. Location was great 400m to the beach and 500m to Blackwater village, we would highly recommend this house to family and friends.
