Boasting a variety of bedrooms throughout to cater for many party types, this delightful cottage has been lovingly decorated and tastefully finished. Carraroe is nestled between two bays, Casla Bay and Greatman’s Bay and is well-known for its traditional Irish fishing boats known as Galway Hookers. The surrounding islands, Lettermore, Lettermullen and Gorumna offer peaceful, unspoilt scenery to enjoy whether on foot or by bike. The entire region is a haven of untouched rugged beauty with sheltered coves, deserted sandy beaches and wild nature, so why not hop on your bike and see what makes this part of Ireland so attractive to visitors? You will be sure to meet some local Connemara ponies along the way! Further afield, and well worth a visit, are the cobbled streets of Galway, Kylemore Abbey and Gardens and the Connemara National Park. For a true Irish experience, this spacious cottage will not disappoint!

The property is well stocked with all modern appliances. Beautiful view with the Coral Beach just down the road. Loved our time and would surely recommend.

It is a beautiful home with a well laid out kitchen, spacious living area and the view sitting outside looks onto Galway Bay. I highly recommend this as a place to stay and experience the delights of the Connemara.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. As we were a party of four (one couple and two singles) we were all able to have a bedroom at the front with a lake view. The beds are comfortable and there is plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space in all the bedrooms. The living room has very comfortable reclining furniture and a large screen television. It could do with a few more side tables though, because it's a bit of a faff having to keep unreclining to reach your glass of wine. We got round this problem by moving some of the bedside tables from the spare bedrooms into the living room for the duration of our stay. The kitchen is well-stocked with crockery, cutlery and glassware. The dishwasher was very useful, but probably coming to the end of its life. It looks very old and makes some interesting noises when in use. Despite that, it didn't let us down. As there were only four of us, we ate our meals at the smaller table in the kitchen, but there is a bigger table in the back room. The bathrooms are reasonably spacious and well sticked with towels. We had a problem with one of the loos being blocked/not flushing. Mary responded quickly and a plumber came and fixed the problem. There is a lovely verandah at the front and side of the house with furniture and a barbecue. We were fortunate enough with the weather (despite it being October) to be able to sit out and enjoy the view. The village has a few pubs. We particularly like the one at the end of the road where we enjoyed the live music on the Friday night. There are several takeaways and a fabulous Chinese restaurant. The small supermarket is well-stocked. They sell excellent freshly prepared meals that are a good value and low effort alternative to eating out. We had the lasagne one evening and sausages and potato au gratin on another. Both were very good. Galway, Cong and Clifton are all a scenic drive and day-trip distance away and you can catch a ferry (approximately 10 minutes drive away) to the Aran Isles. We had a very enjoyable trip to Inis Mor.
