About this property

Situated just a few minutes’ walk from the Irish speaking village of Carraroe, in the heart of Connemara, is this superbly presented, detached ground floor holiday home. It has been furnished and decorated to a high standard throughout, so guests can enjoy style and comfort whilst staying in this popular region. Cook delicious meals for your friends and family in the contemporary kitchen and then kick back and relax in the inviting sitting room, which is complemented by an electric fire, the perfect way to finish off a wonderful day. There are three excellent bedrooms, including two double rooms and a room with twin beds, each carefully presented to cater for your comfort. The village of Carraroe lies within the Ghaeltacht region of Connemara and most of the locals will speak Irish as their native tongue, making your experience in Ireland even more authentic. You might even learn a few words whilst you are here! The local amenities include a few shops and supermarkets, plus a couple of pubs and eateries, all of which are waiting to greet you with the warmest of Irish welcomes. Often referred to as the ‘real Ireland’, Connemara is famed for its rugged landscape and coastline, its crystal blue waters and its sheer wildness. You can make friends with a Connemara pony, wander along almost deserted beaches, or cycle along miles of road without meeting a single other person, but this is what Connemara is all about! There are several wonderful beaches nearby, including Coral Strand, a Blue Flag beach which is a great base for divers of all abilities. Just 20 minutes away, golfers can enjoy a round or two at the Connemara Isle Golf Club, as well as at ones just outside Bearna and Oughterard, slightly further afield. Drive along the coast to the wonderful craft village in Spiddal, where you can pick up a handmade souvenir for your friends back home and the bright lights of Galway City are also worth visiting. Home to the annual Oyster Festival, it also has an abundance of seafood eateries, quirky cafes and lively pubs where you can enjoy traditional Irish music until dawn! This delightful cottage in County Galway is a great base for exploring one of Ireland’s most popular regions.

Carraroe is a small village situated close to the coast within the Connemara region on the western tip of County Galway, and offers a selection of shops and pubs. Within easy reach is the vibrant and friendly city of Galway, which boasts a variety of bars, restaurants and shops, along with a colourful nightlife, while popular Clifden is also within driving distance and is often referred to as 'the capital of Connemara'.
