About this property

Ballinderreen 1.5 miles. An excellent, single-storey, semi-detached cottage just outside the village of Ballinderreen. The property is situated on an inlet of Galway Bay known as Brandy Harbour, which overlooks the Burren Mountains, in the centre of Oyster Country. Well finished throughout, this property is an ideal destination for those who want to escape everyday life, relax and explore the west coast of Ireland. All on the ground floor, with two good-sized bedrooms, guests enter into the open plan living area where there is a well-equipped kitchen for preparing delicious meals that can be enjoyed at the table or in front of the solid fuel stove in the sitting area, ideal for a quiet evening in. Alternatively, guests can sit in the sun room and enjoy the summer sun while the children run around in the garden. Why not go and explore the nearby area and take in that fresh sea air, perhaps going for a walk down to the water’s edge to see who can find the most oysters? A little down the road is the village of Kilcolgan, home to the Moran Oyster Cottage, a thatched cottage dating back over 250 years and now offering freshly-caught seafood. The area is perfect for walkers, with many trails to enjoy, and swimmers looking to test the waters will find a pier just five minutes' walk away from where you can enjoy beautiful, clear waters. The pretty seaside village of Kinvara is just a five-minutes drive away with Dunguaire Castle, one of the most-visited attractions in Galway. For those who wish to venture a bit further, there are many popular attractions within easy reach, such as the lovely Connemara National Park and the city of Galway, which offers a range of shops, pubs and restaurants. A fantastic holiday cottage, which should be booked now to avoid disappointment. This cottage can be booked with Ref 951117, together they sleep 8.

Located in between the villages of Kilcolgan and Kinvarra lies Ballinderreen in south Galway. The village has a shop and a pub and is close to the sandy beach at Tracht, and Morans Oyster Cottage, a delightful thatched cottage that has been turned into a charming restaurant. Ballinderreen rests along the main route from Galway to County Clare and encompasses some of the most stunning coastal scenery you will ever see, the perfect base to explore the delights of west Ireland.

There is ample carparking and a lovely outdoor area. The location is so peaceful and beautiful. We enjoyed daily walks down to the pier. Kinvarra and futher into the Burren are within 15min drive in one direction and Galway about 30min in the other. Lovely spot and we really enjoyed our stay.

Set in the most idyllic location on a tiny bay, with views across to The Burren. A 10min walk take you to a small harbour, but this time with views across to Galway and beyond. The cottage has pretty much everything you need and is tastefully furnished. Ideally located for exploring Galway (30 min drive to the city centre), The Burren (30 mins), The Cliffs of Moher (1 hr) and Connemara National Park (1 h 30 mins). The small village of Kilcolgan is a short drive away and has a store, a couple of pubs and a petrol station. Mattie and Susan were so welcoming and did everything to make our stay a relaxing one. Will definitely be returning one day.
