Was clean and very tidy and very well equipped. Was ideal for our requirements. Was a little dissapointed with the quality of beds and bedding, they could have been better. The water from the taps and in the toilets was brown and unsure why, as no explanation in the property. Wasn’t sure if safe to drink so didn’t. Our assumption was that it was something to do with the bogs ? Concern about the smell from the boiler, if it had been in the kitchen it would definitely be of concern. Although only had it in for a short time 2x a day for hot water. May need the owner to get it checked. All in all enjoyed our stay and after a few improvements our rating would have been far higher

On further investigation we turned on the boiler which had very strong fumes coming from it and believing that this could be a health and safety issue we contacted Joy who said she would contact plumber to check it. We did not have any visit from a plumber. We also were very unhappy that all the tap water and all the water from the mains was highly discoloured. On reporting this to Joy she said this was endemic to Clifden although we saw no evidence of that in other places in Clifden. For the money we paid we would certainly have expected a higher level of furnishings and equipment. The bedding and towels were seriously sub standard, verging on the unacceptable. For a property suitable for at least six people it was very sub standard, e.g. lack of place settings and simple equipment like egg cups etc. We have normally been happy with our Sykes bookings in the past but this has been a real disappointment..

This house is an absolute must if you're visiting Clifden and surrounding area's, it's perfectly located for the town centre literally minutes stroll in to town for all amenities pubs, restaurants and shopping. The house itself is fully furnished with everything that you could possibly need. The WiFi works brilliantly and the rooms are extremely comfortable and there is even a couple of bicycles for your use. All in all a perfect home from home and that's what brings us back each year. But ssshh don't tell anyone
