The village offers numerous amenities, with five pubs, a takeaway and two supermarkets within a minute's walk of this Galway cottage. For the keen angler, fishing is all around the area, particularly on the Bunowen River, famed for its trout. Walking is abundant from this Galway cottage and in the beautiful surrounding countryside. There is also horse riding within 3 miles, and an 18-hole golf course just 5 miles away. If you wish to explore further afield then you could be in Roscommon or Galway City within an hour's drive, making this a fantastic Galway cottage destination from which to enjoy the Emerald Isle.

Located seven miles north-west of Ballinasloe, Ahascragh is a small village in located in east Galway. Home to a number of traditional Irish pubs, this charming settlement is surrounded by rolling countryside and is a great place for those who enjoy walking and cycling. Anglers can enjoy the excellent fishing in local rivers and can try their hand at catching pike and trout - both of which are common throughout the area. Ahascragh itself is central to a number of west Ireland's most popular attractions, that vast majority of which can be reached in under a couple of hour's drive. Visitors to the area can enjoy a wide variety of locations including scenic lakes, craggy mountains, rugged coastlines and vibrant cities.
