"Margaret(owner) was helpful and reacted quickly when we discovered the DVD player remote was unusable. It was nice to find that there were dishwasher tabs, salt and pepper etc. Freshly baked bread and butter was a great touch. We came for surf , and though it was a poor week from that point of view we had a good time, and made the most if the great location. The Aughris Head is further than it says in the details - probably 2.5-3 miles. Otherwise description of local amenities was accurate. I ..."

"We had a great stay at green fort - best surprise was that we were warm despite the subzero temperatures. "Directions were easy to follow, even in Ireland's narrow and winding roads once away from the highways. Contact with the owner was easy to arrange to collect the key and when we arrived the wonderful host had supplied tea, coffee and bread in the superb kitchen, so that we didn't have to rush out and find supplies. No hidden extras in cost and a lovely personal intro book to the area, plus a visit from the host to make sure we knew where everything was. While the cottage was actually a very old farm, the upkeep has been loving and the design and layout were ideal for a family, or simply a mixed group of friends. The scenery and location is wonderful, with cows peering over the fences and the beach truly only a two minute walk away on a private path. Wonderful! Well worth a stay for days or longer and with today's GPS equipment, getting out and about is super easy, although sometimes just taking 'the next turning' can offer some exciting journeys. Warm at night, despite the lateness of the year and so cosy that sometimes we had to force ourselves to go out rather than stay and enjoy the wood fire we learned to set for ourselves. A wonderful visit to green and leafy Ireland, with lovely, homelike accommodation to add to our wonderful visit. Well worth a stay. Georgina and family from Hong Kong"

"Great location over looking the beach. Lovely welcome by owner, fire lit, and some homemade scones and bread to snack on until we got set up. Cottage well equipped with everything you need. Definitely recommend and will go back in the future."

"Lovely clean cottage, plenty of equipment, washing machine and tumble dryer which was great as we took our Grandchildren. Plenty of room for seven of us. The owner was a really lovely lady, who even got our three year old a birthday cake, she was just so kind. The beach at the bottom of the garden isn't ideal for sitting on and we wouldn't have let the children go outside on their own as there was an electric fence to keep the cattle out and quite a drop onto the beach, but saying that the ..."

I would totally recommend this cottage, you do need a car to get about."

"Green Fort Cottage was well maintained and very welcoming upon our arrival. It was centrally located for all our excursions and a fantastic property to return to after a long day. Green Fort will definitely be the first choice when we return to the North West of Ireland!"

    Mrs Brenda McColgan, LuskDublin,
"I recently stayed in Green Fort and it was a 'fab' property. The owner was very nice. She had nice touches like a bottle of milk in the fridge and a packet of biscuits for the kids and plenty of turf available for the fire. Anything you could possibly need was provided without having to go ask for it. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Good location for touring around. Brought kids and grandparents and everyone enjoyed it."
    Mr Dunne, Swords, Dublin
"Green Fort Cottage is in a fantastic location, with access to one of Ireland's wildest, most unspoilt beaches. There are numerous places to explore within a thirty minute drive. The cottage is very cosy and comfortable, and we had a very relaxing few days there."
