County Mayo has some wonderful cycle routes to choose from. Escape the bustle of urban life on the Great Western Greenway, the longest off road walking and cycling trail in Ireland; the Greenway follows Ireland’s Atlantic coast between Westport town and Achill Island and visits the picturesque villages of Newport and Mulranny. For a family day out, you can’t beat a trip to the beach, and County Mayo has the highest number of Blue Flag beaches in the country, from small sheltered coves to stretches of sand – further than the eye can see.
