The modern villa has an outdoor terrace, with sun loungers for you sit and relax, and offers wonderful views out over the Aegean Sea beyond – best enjoyed over a morning coffee (you’ll find a filter coffee and Nespresso coffee machine in the fully-equipped kitchen). There’s also an outdoor dining table and chairs for eating al fresco, a private BBQ station and a shaded patio with day beds.

Inside, the decor is contemporary – think white walls and light furniture with minimalist finesse and maximum gadgetry. The spacious lounge is perfect for putting your feet up after a long day of exploring the local area, while the open-plan kitchen and dining area ensure eating in is a hassle-free and enjoyable experience. Rooms at Villa Flisvos are spacious and light. Choose from the master bedroom with a comfortable double bed, en-suite marble bathroom with hydro-massage bath and separate shower and WC, or the two additional bedrooms; one with two twin beds and the other with one single bed – both sharing another decadent marble bathroom with a shower and WC. With air conditioning in all the rooms and towels, slippers and bathrobes provided the facilities at this villa are second to none.

Quietly positioned in gardens close to the water’s edge, the villa enjoys a sense of seclusion, though a short stroll through the grounds will lead you to a fabulous range of facilities, from water sports and a sumptuous spa to five restaurants and a choice of bars. Step ladders and platforms allow access to the sea just below the gardens, and the complex has a private Blue Flag beach.

Agios Nikolaos is a coastal town on the Greek island of Crete, lying east of the island's capital Heraklion and north of the town of Lerapetra. Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and is best known for its fine white sand beaches, rugged mountains and ancient culture. Full of natural beauty and unique treasures, it’s an ideal place for families and couples alike to explore. 

In Agios Nikolaos itself, you’ll find a range of restaurants and bars serving both local and international cuisine. Browse the shops down winding streets or head to one of the many beaches for water sports, swimming or an afternoon of relaxation on the soft shoreline. Popular choices include Kitroplatia Beach – boasting crystal clear waters and close to all amenities of the town –  or Almyros Beach – set in a closed cove, the waters are shallow and calm, perfect for smaller children.

Behind Agios Nikolaos, the rural villages of the Lasithi Plateau add another facet to Eastern Crete's fascination. There you’ll find a beautiful expanse of green fields interspersed with almond trees and orchards. Offering a sense of secluded Crete, you can discover the rock-studded mountains of the Dikti range, alongside mythical caves and ancient monasteries. 

If you have a car, you might like to take a day trip to the vibrant port city, Heraklion too. Notable places to visit include the Palace of Knossos – an archaeological site that’s thousands of years old – traditional villages, Medieval castles, Byzantine monasteries and secluded coves.
