Completed in 2016, Villa Hermione offers all the luxury and style you would expect from a modern property – ranging from sleek minimal décor in each of its three bedrooms, to a well-equipped kitchen, outdoor swimming pool complete with its very own waterfall, and a Finnish sauna - perfect after a busy day of lounging at the beach and soaking up the heat of the Cretan sun.
The kitchen, with its large windows and sea views, has all the amenities you would need and a large dining table that seats 8 – room for everyone to enjoy breakfast while deciding which of the local beaches to head to next. The open plan layout flows nicely through to the living room – complete with TV and fireplace, so whoever is cooking won’t feel tucked away.
From the kitchen you can head straight out to a lovely covered terrace, ideal for a lazy lunch enjoying the local food. This is also a great spot to enjoy the spectacular views across the bay. There is also a separate outside seating area on the other side of the villa, and another indoors – perfect for some luxurious peace and quiet on your holiday. The terrace, with its covered dining area with room for 8, and outdoor cooking facilities, is the perfect spot to unwind and really settle into your holiday. From here you can stroll out past the pool, towards the private gardens – a lovely chance to potter in someone else’s vegetable garden, without having to worry about the weeds! For those of you who want a more active holiday, there is a private basketball court, just a short walk down through the gardens directly below the villa.
The villa’s owners have thoughtfully designed the bedrooms and bathrooms. Each of the three bedrooms (two doubles, and one twin), each with its own TV, is airy and light with lovely windows to capture the best of the sea views where possible; while the bathrooms (one en-suite) have luxury showers, clean lines and a modern finish.
Villa Hermione is situated between the popular towns of Aghios Nikolaos and smaller Elounda, on the eastern side of Crete. Aghios Nikolaos itself has grown from being a small fishing village, to what is now a bustling well-serviced destination, while still retaining its original charm. It’s a good-sized town, and one you’ll get to know quickly – from the busy marina to the sandy beaches, it’s all within easy reach. There are a good variety of restaurants and bars in both Aghios Nikolaos and Elounda, ranging from fine dining to cheerful local tavernas, so you’ll get a good taste of Cretan culture and hospitality. The property itself is perfectly situated for Havania Beach, a Blue Flag beach, only 200m away.
It’s about a 45 minute drive to Heraklion airport, so you won’t need to waste hours of your holiday on travel time.
