Have a fairy-tale holiday at Chateau Magique, a 14th century castle in Aquitaine set on 550 hectares. The extensive grounds include woodlands, a volleyball court, fenced deer park and a games room with table tennis, baby foot and billiards table. The 20m fully enclosed pool has a covered terrace area and shower. You’ll see the estate’s vineyards on the horizon, and guests can sample and purchase from our long list of wines.

Inside, 14 guests sleep comfortably in 7 bedrooms (some modern, some traditional) with 5 en-suite bathrooms and separate 3 shower rooms. You’ll love the large stone fireplace in the main lounge, the chapel and the UK TV and Wi-Fi. With two kitchens, you can self-cater easily for a group, but private chef service and a wedding planner are available for your convenience.

Adventurers will find plenty of nearby outdoor activities, including canoeing, pony trekking, golfing, archery, shooting and a treetop adventure course. The nearby towns of Nerac and Mezin have bustling markets, delicious restaurants and sightseeing.

This castle in the Lot-et-Garonne department is within 1.5 hours of the Bordeaux, Bergerac, Toulouse, Pau and Biarritz airports. TGV trains run to Agen, 30 minutes away.

The château is situated in the Lot-et-Garonne on the borders of Gascony, famous for Armagnac, wine production, duck and, foie.

The château is located approximately 10 minutes from the towns of Nérac and Mezin which both have bustling markets, fine restaurants, boat trips and plenty of other sightseeing opportunities.

It's also only a 20 minutes’ drive from the Cathedral town of Condom and 30 minutes from the elegant city of Agen.

International airports are located at Bordeaux, Bergerac, Toulouse, Pau and Biarritz, which are all within one and half-hour’s drive. TGV services run from Paris and the Mediterranean to Agen, which is about 30 minutes away.

The château produces its own wine, which is stocked in the Château cellar and available for purchase.

The Château is ideally located for golfers with a good 18 hole course 15 minutes away. There are a variety of outdoor pursuits within 5 minutes’ drive from the château, such as canoeing, tree top walking, horse riding, walking, paintball and waterparks.

If you prefer to relax, you can also book a pamper day with your own beautician at the château, who offers facials, massage, manicures or pedicures.

Chateau Interior
Ground Floor
- Entrance Hall - oak panelled hallway leading to a large limestone staircase.
- Dining Hall - a wonderful room with an ornate wooden ceiling, large stone fireplace, large refectory table also furnished with a suit of armour and carved cabinets
- Upper Kitchen - fitted upper kitchen with granite work surfaces and stainless steel splash backs, dishwasher, twin sink, microwave, fridge/freezer, smeg range oven/hob
- Lower Kitchen - with an arched stone ceiling, the kitchen is well equipped including dishwasher, wine chiller, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, oven and hob.
- Store room - wine cellar, chest freezer and two fridges
- Laundry Room – situated off the terrace with two washing machines and a large tumble drier
- Chapel - the ancient chapel of the chateau is the oldest survival on the site (probably 12th century). At a later date, the chapel was extended with a nave in Gothic style, and its northern wall formed part of the main defensive wall of the chateau. It is accessed from a hall way leading from the upper kitchen.
- Main lounge/sitting area - spacious salon with wooden flooring and an abundance of sofas and chairs. The very impressive room features a large stone fireplace. The furniture and furnishings are all in keeping with the historic feel of the room.
- Music Room – an elaborate ornate room with gilt finish and a grand piano, period furnishing, large TV (UK Freeview) and oversized beanbags 
- Games Room – dark wood panelled room, with billiard table and baby foot, walls adorned with hunting trophies, swords, flags and shields.
- Ladies Powder room with separate WC, wash basin and dressing table

First Floor
- Armoury Room (Room 1) - This large room features a four poster bed. The room is partially oak panelled with period furnishing, fireplace and a wonderful southerly outlook over the grounds and parklands. En-suite Bathroom with scroll top bath, twin washbasins, large shower and WC
- Chapel Bedroom (Room 2) – Modern contemporary room, King-size bed, wardrobe and fireplace, window overlooking the Terrace with en-suite bathroom, twin washbasins, large shower and WC.
- Hunters bedroom (room 3) – features a king-size four poster bed, fireplace and original ornately painted ceiling. Southerly facing windows overlooking the gardens, lake and woodland.
- Grey Suite (Room 4) – king-size four poster bed, tastefully decorated with a fireplace and sofa. Door leading to spacious en-suite bathroom, with scroll top bath, washbasin and WC located in its own tower, south facing window overlooking gardens.
-Shower Room (Room 5) – Extra Large walk in shower with washbasin and WC, west facing window overlooking gardens and woodland
- Shower room (Room 6) - Shower, washbasin, WC.
- Four poster Bedroom (Room 7) – King-size four poster bed, fireplace and wardrobe, northerly views over surrounding countryside and the chateau’s vineyard.
- Shower room (Room 8) – shower, washbasin, WC.

Second Floor
- Bedroom (Room 14) Twin bed, views over the Terrace, gardens and lake, en-suite with shower, washbasin, WC

Gardens and Grounds

The chateau is set in 550 hectares with its own forest, fenced in deer park, large lake, streams and volleyball court. The main gate leads to the large upper terrace with lawn, flower beds and seating area which overlook the gardens.

Stone steps lead down to the large securely fenced pool of 20x10m and 3.5 deep with BBQ and covered seating area. 
The main drive leads to the front of the chateau with its impressive gates and twin turrets, the drive continues to the chateau’s chais where the wine is made and stored.

    We had a fantastic holiday at the Chateau. The grounds and the chateau were right out of a fairytale. Jo and Jean-Marc were very helpful and organized. The regions gastronomy was an eye opener. We simply loved to stay here and hope to return in the future
