About this property

A modern 4-bedroom holiday home, Villa Elic is just 10 minutes’ drive from the riverside in Omiš. Located in the quiet village of Kostanje, this villa has its own private pool and pretty gardens for up to eight guests to enjoy in the sunshine.

Outside, the villa has a children’s play area in the garden, surrounded by Mediterranean plants, and there is also a summer kitchen with barbecue and a covered dining area looking out on the 31 sq m swimming pool and to the mountains beyond. The covered terrace also features a seating area and TV, and there are sun loungers lined up poolside too.

The interior is fully air-conditioned and has a living area on the ground floor, with TV and fireplace, as well as a dining table with seating for eight. The adjacent kitchen provides all you will need, including a coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher and lots of storage. There is also a bathroom with shower on this floor.

Upstairs, you will find three double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, as well as two bathrooms. Two of the doubles have access to the upper terrace where you have coffee tables and chairs and incredible views of the valley.

Additional features include a massage chair, exercise bike and a football table, and Villa Elic also provides free Wi-Fi.

The beaches of Omiš are within a 20-minute drive, and the town has a lot more to explore and experience too. Among the highlights are the stunning views from its fortresses, and the exciting sports you can try on or over the River Cetina, from rafting and canyoning to zip-lining.

Take time to potter around the Old Town with its narrow streets and intriguing passages, and dine in one of its excellent restaurants, some of which enjoy a spectacular setting.

A small harbour town on the Dalmatian Coast, Omiš sits at the mouth of the Cetina River. It has a long and rich history, with stories of the town’s notorious pirates running amok in the Middle Ages among those you are bound to discover. In the 13th and 14th century, they were the most-feared in the Adriatic, and used the river to make a quick getaway after attacking passing trade ships. In summer, Pirate Night tours are a popular attraction, telling tales of the pirates in a more family-friendly way.

Omiš is a pleasant place to spend your time with lovely beaches and a wealth of great restaurants and cafés. It’s visually impressive, with steep cliffs providing a backdrop to the Old Town, where you can find a Franciscan monastery and several old churches, in addition to the Mirabella fortress, dating from the 13th century. At the top of the mountain, there is also the Starigrad fortress – it’s quite a climb, but a rewarding one.

Olive groves and vineyards lend their magic to the beautiful areas which surround the town, and the Cetina gives you the opportunity to try out water-sports like rafting, canyoning and canoeing.

Omiš is something of a cultural hub too. The town hosts festivals celebrating music and theatre on a regular basis, with an annual highlight being the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas each summer. Split is also easily accessible from Omiš, around 25km away, so it’s easy to take a bus or mini-van to see the Diocletian Palace, the Cathedral of St Domnius or the town’s strangely unmissable frog museum. The Villa

This villa is superb, equipped with everything you could possibly need. And spotlessly clean. The host was extremely helpful, giving recommendations and information. He had even prepared a lovely meal for us as we arrived very late. Most thoughtful. The jewel in the crown is the outside area, which offers a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a games area and an area area to sit comfortable and relax.

The villa undoubtedly exceeded our expectations in comfort, immaculate cleanliness and privacy. It is built to a very high specification, stylishly decorated and fantastically well-equipped. The pool area faces due south and is a real sun-trap, which was delightful in late September. Parking is very easy and convenient, immediately outside the villa and it is only two minutes' drive to the good local Studenac supermarket. Ivo welcomed us warmly with gifts of delicious Croatian food and gave us helpful local advice. We particularly enjoyed the gorgeous ripe figs which we were encouraged to pick from the garden. This is undoubtedly one of the best villas we have ever stayed in and we can unreservedly recommend it.
