About this property

With a beautiful elevated position just a five minute drive from the fishing village of Milna, Villa Duboka offers five bedrooms, a private pool and wonderful sea-views on the popular Dalmatian island of Brac.

This unique villa offers an air of luxury inside combined with lovely Mediterranean gardens and terraces. The living and dining room, with its high quality furnishings, open up to a delightful covered verandah where you can laze by the pool with a good book and local wine, or feel the warmth on one of the sun-loungers before dipping in to the refreshing swimming pool. Al-fresco dining is just wonderful on the spacious terrace with a traditional stone barbecue and a large outdoor dining table where family and friends can gather. A private chef can be arranged for all or part of your stay, especially ideal if you have a special occasion during your stay.

The four bedrooms in the main villa offer contemporary furnishings with king-sized beds and there are three high quality bathrooms, one of them ensuite. There is a fifth bedroom in an annexe cottage, just separate from the main villa, with a French bed and sofa-bed, perhaps ideal for older teens in the party.

The villa enjoys beautiful sea-views and is in an elevated position, about 50 metres from the waterfront down a steep hill. A little further, down a rocky path, is a terraced area with sunloungers for villa guests to use plus kayaks to explore nearby coves in the crystal clear waters.

Duboka Bay offers peaceful surroundings yet is only 2.5km by car to the harbour village of Milna, where there is a good choice of cafes, restaurants, wine shops plus a local farmers market. You’ll find plenty of fresh fish, good quality olive oil and local home-made wines to sample and enjoy. The local area offers scuba diving, sailing and fishing and there are further watersports on the island. Beautiful coves in the area include Lucice, Osibova and Bobvisca harbour.

Brac is arguably one of the Adriatic’s most beautiful islands and is very accessible from mainland Croatia, ferries from Split or Makarska take less than an hour. Whilst its proximity to the mainland makes it a very popular island it is easy to go off the beaten track and discover the rugged interior with its pine forests, olive groves, marble quarries and tiny villages steeped in history and tradition. Vidova Gora is the highest mountain of all the Dalmatian islands and the island is brilliant for keen hikers, bikers and mountaineers. There are beautiful stretches of coastline throughout with a mixture of sand-shingle beaches and rocky coves. The most photographed beach Zlatni Rat, in the south of the island, is popular for families and watersport enthusiasts.

The typically Dalmatian fishing village of Milna is just 2.5km away by car. The pretty harbour town used to be known for ship building and has a lovely port where you can sit and enjoy a coffee watching the boats come in and out.

There are pretty stone houses dotted along the coastline and the Baroque church in the village features a typically Dalmatian belltower plus some Venetian artwork hidden inside. There is a good choice of cafes, restaurants, wine shops and a local farmers market. You’ll find plenty of fresh fish, good quality olive oil and local home-made wines to sample and enjoy. Wine and olive oil tasting is available locally and you can even get involved in the harvests in the autumnal months.

The local area offers scuba diving, sailing and fishing and the villa even has its own kayaks for you to explore the nearby bays in the clear turquoise waters. Beautiful coves in the area include Lucice, Osibova and Bobvisca harbour.

The island is made out of karst rock, a white stone which has been used by famous sculptors across Croatia. Just south of Supetar is the village of Donji Humac and here you can observe the tradition of stone carving.

A day trip to the young, vibrant and historical city of Split is easy with ferries departing from Supetar, just 20km from the villa and the boat takes just under one hour. Or you can discover more island life in the glitzy and beautiful island of Hvar, easily accessible by ferry from one of the many ports on the island.

A very well appointed villa with a great location. Very clean and sleek design. Great outside spaces. A few minutes down to your own private rock with the most amazing sea. Great to take the kayaks and paddle round the bay to the right to the millionaires yacht playground, bars and restaurant. Only 5 mins drive to Milna where you can get all supplies needed. Stipe organised a great boat trip for us with Tony - a very memorable 40th birthday and great escape from work. Would highly recommend.

Our family have just completed the most wonderful holiday. Coming all the way from New Zealand it was very important to have a beautiful place to stay and not to be disappointed from viewing on the internet, so it was with great pleasure that we arrived on the island of Brac to find this amazing Villa. There was not one thing that was not perfect from the communication with the owners to the staff – nothing was too much trouble. The house couldn’t have suited us better with adults and children alike – there was something for everyone and lots of lovely spaces . The pool was wonderful , the house beautiful and the position of the Villa just stunning. I would definitely recommend to anyone that is making a trip to the beautiful Croatia – you won’t be disappointed – it was an absolute highlight for us – a big thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise. I would love to come again one day.
