About this property

Complimentary Welcome Hamper
A complimentary welcome hamper will be awaiting you on your arrival containing milk, tea, fresh coffee, bread, butter, eggs, juice, wine and cheese, along with other essential items to prepare a light snack or breakfast. There may be some regional variations.

In association with Trinity House, Snaptrip is pleased to present S41680 at North Foreland Lighthouse.
S41680 is one of two holiday cottages available at the lighthouse, which lies on the chalk headland above the charming and unspoilt seaside town of Broadstairs at the far eastern tip of Kent. Both cottages are very child friendly, surrounded by spacious lawned grounds and set well away from cliffs. The holiday cottages have shared use of a very large, one-acre lawned garden and patio with ample space to sit out.
The earliest reference to a light on North Foreland was given in a deed dated 1499 and, at that time, it was almost certain that the beacon was used to warn of attack or piracy rather than as an aid to navigation. The lighthouse does not have a fog signal.

"A couple of extra towels would have been handy, as we only had one bath towel each to last us the four days. With nowhere to dry them outside, we had to leave them on the heated towel rail to be ready for next use, but after a couple of days they were getting a bit grotty! Lovely provisions hamper was a nice welcome and the housekeeper Ann, was friendly and very helpful. We would not stay at Lodesman again because the downstairs bathroom and toilet proved to me a bit of a hassle with steep stairs in the middle of the night! But we enjoyed our stay there and had everything we needed to be comfortable."

"We rented S41680 for a break away from London to celebrate a friends birthday. We were all very pleased with the location, comfort and quality of the cottage. The surrounding environment was perfect for what we wanted. The cottage itself was well equipped and one of the best self catering environments I have experienced. We were all very impressed with the cleanliness and comfort provided as well as the welcome hamper and nice little touches around the cottage. Ann was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and we would wholeheartedly recommend the cottage. Thank you."

"The 'stunning sea views' from the cottage were underwhelming - more like sea glimpses from two upstairs windows if you looked out at an angle, but it was still great to stay in a cottage connected to a working lighthouse."

"This was really great. Clean, good breakfast and wine. Excellent."

"the cottage was excellently furnished and equipped and all of the little Christmas extras were provided for. The welcome hamper and other items were most welcome especially since we had come from South africa and were not sure what we needed to bring. some strange quirks that the housekeeper did warn us about such as the lights tripping the breaker (cunningly hidden in the lounge cupboard, I doubt that I would ever have found it). I think maybe a larger TV monitor could be installed. Truly an outstanding peaceful holiday."

"A lovely cottage, friendly housekeeper and generous welcome hamper! Three great days. Time on the beach and fish and chips on the lawn at the back of the cottage, enjoying the views. The Dickens Festival started while we were here and was a very entertaining way to see Broadstairs, in its Victorian heyday. Sunday lunch at The Charles Dickens Restaurant - would recommend this any time!! Fantastic break. "
