Crossing Keeper's Cottage in Grosmont is highly praised for its excellent location, particularly for steam train enthusiasts, and its well-equipped nature. Guests find it comfortable, homely, and appreciate the thoughtful touches, although some noted a need for better cleaning and maintenance. The proximity to local amenities and the charm of the property are consistently mentioned as highlights.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. While some guests found it clean and homely, others noted it could benefit from a deeper clean and better dusting. The presence of dirt and outdated items in the first aid kit were mentioned.

The location is universally acclaimed, with guests loving the proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, local pub, and village shop. The scenic village and the ease of access to local attractions make it an ideal spot.

Most guests found the cottage spacious, comfortable, and cosy, with a homely feel and lovely decor. The furniture was comfortable, and the presence of a log burner was appreciated, although the lack of a hairdryer and dishwasher was noted.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being thoughtfully equipped. However, some guests encountered issues with hot water and TV operation, and there were comments about the lack of basic supplies and the need for parking clarification.

Guests appreciated the provision of tea and the railway-themed decor. However, some were disappointed by the absence of a welcome pack, which was expected but not guaranteed. It's important to note that while thoughtful gestures are appreciated, they are not assured.

Four of us plus our dog had a lovely three night break in this property over the August bank holiday weekend. The main reason for choosing this accommodation was its proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and as far as that goes, well you couldn’t get any closer! Watching the activity on the station and the locomotives passing by was a real highlight. The cottage itself was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Lots of railwayana dotted about the place which is a nice touch. We had an issue midway through our stay with the hot water but this was quickly resolved. We would definitely return.

Fabulous location, great for families and dogs. Lovely property but It is in need of a deep clean. We are not clean freaks by any stretch of the imagination (3kids and dog!!) but as the stay went on we noticed more and more dust and dirt which has clearly been there a long time. We’ve paid less for other properties which have been cleaner and also been left with basics such as washing up liquid. Also needs a pair of scissors and the first aid kit was years out of date and no plasters. However this did not ruin our stay.

Everything was great apart from the promises for logs to be left..but that was rectified quickly. Also standard of cleaning left alot.to be desired this time. Place hadn't been properly.dusted. we did that ourselves.
