There are no countryside views from the garden but as we were visiting in November we didn't mind as we had no intention of sitting outside. Loved the kitchen, so spacious and well equipped. The bedroom had plenty of wardrobe space, the bed was comfortable although there was a slight lean towards one side of the mattress, the en-suite bathroom was lovely and clean with an excellent shower. We were especially pleased that there was an extra toilet in the hallway. However, our visit was somewhat spoiled by the Energy Crisis as the owner had put restrictions on the heating usage. It went off around 9am and didn't come back on until 5pm, we were unable to change this but were provided with a small Halogen heater. This stood in a small area between the kitchen, bedroom and lounge but didn't provide enough heat to warm the whole area. Unfortunately it was so bright we couldn't have it in the lounge because we couldn't see the TV so didn't benefit from it. Fortunately we were out every day till around 3:30pm but when we came in we had to sit for nearly two hours with fleeces on and hot drinks to keep our hands warm till the heating came on. Yes, November is a cold month, we know that and expected it to be cold but not when we were sitting in our accommodation. We understand the economic pressure and as was explained to us the running cost of letting the property had gone up since the price was set. The owner did say that to make letting the property financially viable they might have to install a pay-as-you-go meter to cover usage outside of the set heating times, we thought this was a good idea and would've been happy to pay for the extra costs outside of what we had paid for in our booking but sadly this was not in place. We did everything that we planned to do during our week but we didn't expect to pay for a holiday and be colder than if we'd stayed at home. We did see the seals though. It's a shame that the fallout from the Energy Crisis was passed onto us, we expect prices to rise next year to cover losses from this year. Overall we had a good week but it would've been so much more enjoyable if we had been warmer during the day in the accommodation.

A good place for peace and quiet or as a base to explore. Louth is a friendly, lively town, especially on market day. Beaches along coast near Mablethorpe are ideal for dogs.
