The huge picture window sitting just behind the contemporary multi-fuel burner is a small offering of what is available to guests in this very comfortable accommodation set in this stunning part of Devon. All properties offer guests a good level of comfort and are ideal for families or small groups wanting to enjoy the surrounding area, and a welcome pack is waiting for you on arrival with a homemade cake, bread, butter, jam, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and breakfast cereal.
Centred on a cobbled courtyard with a pond, the properties benefit from the use of their own private sitting-out area as well as a very large, well-maintained garden with stunning views across the countryside. There are some great walks from the farm up onto Exmoor which is designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve, and there are a number of walks on the estate that take you down through woods and along valleys by rivers and past lakes. The walks are mainly off road and a wide variety of wildlife can be seen, from the wild red deer that Exmoor is famous for, to the tiny but vibrant kingfisher. On the estate there is a 3-acre spring fed lake which has a population of wild brown trout. Fishing on this lake is available to guests in the fishing season. To round off your day you can cook your catch on one of the lakeside barbecues that are provided for you. The village of North Molton, a short drive away, has a good local shop and pub. The larger town of South Molton has a wider range of shops and local amenities.
During your stay, there is plenty to see and do. Highlights on the moor include the pretty village of Withypool, and the the famous and ancient Tarr Steps. Climb to Exmoor’s highest point at Dunkery Beacon, and then pop into the Dulverton for an afternoon cream tea. There is extensive walking to suit all abilities across the moor, and towards the coastline there are dramatic, steep cliffs at Countisbury. In the Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, there is plenty to see and do, and the two towns are connected by the famous funicular cliff railway. Other local highlights include the Valley of the Rocks, and there is also access to the South West Coast Path. For good beaches, head up to Woolacombe, Putborough and Croyde. You will be able to enjoy some of the best beaches in the country with surfing and rock pooling. For those with young children, Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife Park and Watermouth Castle all provide an interesting and entertaining day out. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knighthayes. Golf, fishing, cycling and safaris across the moor are all available locally. Beach 15 miles. Shop and restaurant 4¼ miles, pub 2 miles.
The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 20 guests.

"Beautiful cottage, well laid out and lovely to stay in. Lovely welcome pack which was gratefully received. Only slight snag was it was a long way from everything which meant having to drive but that wasn’t too bad! Imagine in the summer it would be even better!"

    "Fantastic property with great views"

"A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings."

"Lovely cottage, with the most spectacular view. Well equipped, very clean, with helpful owners on site but not intrusive. Chocolate cupcakes on arrival were delicious! Not far from lots of attractions including beaches, walks and National Trust properties - so a wonderful base for a holiday. Thoroughly recommended."

"Well equipped cottage in a lovely and peaceful location. Wonderful host and lots of walks on Exmoor."

"We had a lovely stay at Coombe View, it’s a beautifully converted barn, with lots of space. It’s unfortunate that the games room for the adjacent property is under the kitchen area and we encountered some noise, but other than that no issues. Lovely walking from the property, and drive to local amenities wasn’t a problem for us at all. We had a lovely break."

"What a fabulous place to stay! Wonderful characterful yet light and spacious property with stunning views across the countryside. Plenty of great places to visit and lots of pubs and restaurants - mind you the grounds and sunset views are so glorious you might find it tough to leave! Donna and her family couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Definitely would highly recommend and will return for another stay."

"Combe View was simply beautiful. Sitting in the lounge looking at the sunset through such a big panoramic window was so lovely, as was to sitting in bed, drinking a cuppa in the mornings, admiring the views! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and Donna had made us some delicious rocky road and provided bread, butter milk and tea coffee etc.The location of the house was excellent for us, we visited the lakes and even did some fishing in them. The weather was beautiful for Easter, which allowed us to sit out in the mornings and evenings and we even managed a BBQ! We would definitely recommend this holiday house and we would definitely go back!"

"Coombe view was perfect for us, very comfortable with everything we needed and a stunning view. The owners were really lovely and welcoming and showed us where everything was and shared their knowledge of the local area. The only thing we would of liked is a closer pub and shop. However we will definately be going back"

"This place is absolutely amazing. So tranquil and relaxing! The location was great for us as it’s extremly quiet and not much around- which is what we wanted. But only 20 mins to the local shop. We didn’t really see anyone all weekend and the surroundings are just beautiful. Kitchen is well equipped and comfy sofas and beds. Tv is a fab size and you even get use of a wireless speaker. The fire was just perfect. The place was so warm (underfloor heating!!) and SO clean. The owners are extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome. Thank you Donna for the homemade cookies and extra bits! We have already recommended this to family and friends and cannot wait to come back. We took our two dogs and they really enjoyed it too. Thank you so so much!!!"

"Amazing week here, owners super helpful and welcoming. Lovely welcome pack on arrival including home made sponge cake. Cottage well stocked, dog friendly and decorated for Christmas. Half hr from Barnstaple which has everything you need and 5 mins from Exmoor. Have been going on winter holidays for 13yrs and this is the first time we have booked to stay in the same place next year before we even finished this holiday. 100% recommend"
