About this property

This mid-terrace stone cottage is located in Broughton-in-Furness, a charming village situated on the southern border of the Lake District National Park and within a short distance of the Duddon Estuary. This compact cottage has been recently renovated. The interior features a light and airy design with wooden floors, slate tiles in the kitchen and a crisp white finish for the walls.

A lovingly refurbished four-storey property, Caroline’s Cottage offers a traditional feel with contemporary amenities. Despite the modern touches and design, there's plenty of cosiness to be had, too. Relax by one of the two wood-burning stoves during the winter or lounge in the courtyard during the summer. Caroline's Cottage is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic place to return to after a day of exploring the Lake District, or for a family after a classic holiday home with modern amenities.

The lounge is a cosy space with oak flooring, traditional wooden shutters and a wood burning stove to keep the cold away on winter evenings. Leading out into a dining and kitchen area with slate floors and modern kitchen amenities, you'll find another wood burning stove and the entrance to the courtyard. Up the almost-spiral staircase and you'll reach the main bedroom.

The main bedroom is light, spacious and features an en-suite bathroom. Up the steep wooden stairs, there’s an attic bedroom with cosy sloped ceilings and 2 double beds, an ideal space for the children to escape to.

Outdoors, the courtyard is a peaceful spot with a table and chairs for summer breakfasts and slow-paced summer days. Put your feet up after a long day exploring the Lake District and enjoy a glass of wine in the sunshine. You'll feel like you're returning your own little home away from home.

Located just off the main street in Broughton-in-Furness, there are plenty of local amenities within walking distance of Caroline's Cottage, including shops, pubs and village classics such as a butcher and a bakery, which is perfect if you want to cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen. The village itself is peaceful and quiet. Whilst you're here you'll definitely end up checking out some of the lovely local pubs and make use of the convenient shops. Beyond Broughton-in-Furness there’s the gorgeous Lake District and the Solway Coast to explore, plus the South Lakes Wildlife Zoo is just a 20-minute drive away. Both Lake Windermere and Scafell Pike are within an hours' drive. Talk about an excellent location...

Caroline's Cottage is a beautiful property with all the charm of an old-world Lake District village, but with all the modern amenities provided to make your holiday as smooth and stress-free as possible. Fantastically located, you can enjoy everything the local area has to offer from this comfy base.

Dating back to the 11th century, Broughton-in-Furness is situated in the south western corner of the Lake District and is just six miles from Coniston Water. There is much to please the visitor such as a pretty cobbled square complete with a splendid horse chestnut tree, enclosed by shops, pubs and homes, many of them Georgian in origin. The village provides an ideal base for a walking or climbing holiday, with ample opportunity to explore the rugged beauty of the Duddon Valley. Set amidst the charm of the Lake District and close to the sea, this attractive town makes an inspiring choice from which to further explore a magical heartland of lakes, lofty towering peaks and lonely, heather-clad moors.
