    Dating back to the early 1700s and originally built for the use of Hexham Abbey, Hexham House has been lovingly restored and renovated into seven apartments which are unique, individual and full of style. Perfect as a wedding venue, or for guests wanting to enjoy a family get together or celebration with friends, Hexham House really does have everything to offer. Looking onto the grounds of Hexham Abbey, guests will have full use of this public space and will have access straight into these gardens. For larger groups, the whole building can be booked together, and with prior arrangement with the owners, a separate reception and banqueting room and also a registrar can be booked if needed. Hexham House really does boast the most magical atmosphere and ambience, which makes it the perfect place to say your marriage vows, with accommodation for guests right on site. The apartments are also the ideal location for a romantic break or family holiday. Apartment 6 is on the second floor and offers comfort and style, with an open-plan living area, a kingsize bedroom and a shower room.

    With an abundance of history literally on the doorstep, Hexham is filled with interesting places to visit, explore and enjoy. Hexham Abbey sits proudly to the rear of Hexham House and dominates the market place of the town. Dating back to AD674, this old priory boasts an interactive exhibition and a visitor centre, as well as fabulous grounds and public spaces. Hexham Old Gaol is another historic site and certainly worth a visit at any time of year. For guests who enjoy a day at the races, Hexham Racecourse is situated just 2 miles away and has a packed calendar all year round. Hexham boasts a theatre, cinema, golf course, rowing club, skateboard park, leisure centre with pool, running track and ten-pin bowling alley, so guests should always be able to find something to enjoy during their stay.

    Hexham is located just 6 miles from the world famous Hadrian’s Wall, the county’s greatest Roman monument and World Heritage Site, which stretches 73 miles across the backbone of Northumberland. Crossing through stunning countryside, natural woodland and meadows, there are plenty of established public footpaths, cycle paths, bridleways and popular walks and cycle routes that guests must take the opportunity to explore, as well as Roman forts and settlements that include Vindolanda, Chesters and Housesteads.

    The pretty town of Corbridge is only a little over 5 miles away and offers some great places to eat and drink, as well as boutique shops and a stroll along the riverbanks. The Northumberland National Park and International Dark Skies Park are both close by and offer some of the most fabulous scenery and views, as well as unbeatable star gazing at night. Hexham is also very well positioned for exploring the bordering counties of Cumbria and County Durham, with Carlisle, the Lake District and the cathedral city of Durham all easily reachable within an hour’s drive. Just 20 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead, guests will find there are plenty of shopping opportunities, art galleries, museums, restaurants and bars. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
    Apartment 6 can be booked together with Apartment 1 (UK3192), Apartment 2 (UK3193), Apartment 3 (UK3194), Apartment 4 (UK3195), Apartment 5 (UK3196) and Apartment 7 (UK3198) to accommodate up to 20 guests.

    "Very comfortable apartment in a historic building. Property managers very responsive to any problems and flat very clean with fruit chocolates and milk left for our arrival. Well placed in the centre of Hexham. Hexham well placed for trips to Hadrian Wall, Kielder Water and Newcastle. Enjoyed the week very much."

    "Apartment nicely finished, but several windows didn’t close completely, only warm water for sinks, heated towel rail broken for half the stay, no evidence of a vacuum clean, builders dust on door ledges.....etc., etc."

    "We're sure this would be a lovely apartment for a lot of people. We found all the rooms to be much smaller than they appeared on the website. Getting out of the left side of the bed was a really tight squeeze! The bed was lovely and comfortable but the sofa and dining chairs were quite lumpy and hard. There was nowhere to store any food other than the fridge and freezer. It was obviously more suited to people who like to eat out. If you like to be in the centre of things with resatuarants, pubs and shops on your doorstep, this is the place to be. As the apartment is at the front of the building and has the original windows, it is a very noisy place and we were frequently woken up through the night by loud cars and noisy people in the street below. One night a group of lads were kicking dustbins right outside and shouting for about 10 minutes at 3.30 in the morning. Cameron was a nice chap but didn't bother to fix the broken window in the lounge as promised - luckily it was only the first night that it was cold."

It is situated in a beautiful location , delightful gardens and with a view of the Abbey. Hexham is an excellent base for exploring Northumberland."

    "Fantastic apartment in a great location. The apartment was immaculately clean and decorated to a very high standard. There are lovely views onto Hexham Abbey which was all lit up at night and the sound of the Abbey bells was lovely. The gardens are beautiful and the apartment was so peaceful and quiet. I was greeted and shown around the apartment and there was a lovely welcome pack of fresh fruit , milk ,a newspaper and chocolates. There was coffee, tea, biscuits too to get you started. Parking was easy in the grounds of Hexham Abbey just 2 minutes walk away and a free permit was provided. This has got to be one, if not the best holiday apartment I have stayed at. I will definitely be booking again as it was perfect in every way and great value for money. It's in a great location for anyone visiting Northumberland and the train station is only 10 minutes walk away. I would highly recommend this property you will not be disappointed."
