Snaptrip says

Carters Cottage receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful touches such as a welcome cake. The property is well-equipped and boasts a convenient location for exploring the Peak District. While some guests noted traffic noise and parking challenges, these were minor compared to the overall positive experience and the helpfulness of the hosts.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently noted the cottage was spotlessly clean, with several reviews highlighting the cleanliness specifically. One mention of cobwebs suggests a minor oversight, but overall, the high standard of cleanliness is evident.

The location is generally praised for its proximity to local attractions and beauty spots in the Peak District. However, some guests mentioned traffic noise and a lack of shops/cafes to mooch around, which slightly impacted the location's appeal.

The comfort of the cottage is frequently commended, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the atmosphere cosy. The only minor discomfort mentioned was the challenge of seating around the kitchen table.

Facilities are well-regarded, with the cottage being described as well-equipped and having everything needed. A few guests noted the lack of a back door for ventilation and a missing item for the barbecue, but these are small issues in the context of otherwise excellent facilities.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with welcome treats such as cake and dog biscuits being appreciated. While these gestures are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches may vary and are not guaranteed.

Even the tvs seem to have grown! Very comfortable and the cellar/drying room with a Belfast sink and dog towels is a real bonus for muddy dogs/walking boots. I would suggest that it is made clearer that the owners do not allow dogs upstairs as if you have an anxious dog this could be a problem. They also are not allowed to toilet on the only enclosed space. These things are good to know before you book. Very good situation, close to Castleton and two National Trust properties.
