    Superb seaside bungalow with sea views, garden, ample parking and only ½ mile from the beach.
    Balamar is a spacious detached bungalow in an elevated position, which allows spectacular panoramic views across open fields to the sea and Scottish hills. It is situated in the  little village of Crosscannonby, ½ mile from the sand and shingle beach between Allonby and Maryport. Allonby is a typical quaint seaside town with surf bar, cafes and ice cream parlour and Maryport has a harbour, marina and more amenities. The accommodation is stylishly furnished, with a mix of modern and antique, and has excellent facilities, with 3 bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen and ample parking. Although there are a couple of steps into the bungalow, once inside the accommodation is all on ground floor and with the benefit of a wet room guests with mobility problems will find it most convenient. The garden is a peaceful haven for relaxation, with great views including stunning sunsets. The quiet country lanes in this peaceful corner of Cumbria are perfect for cycling and the nearby beach is ideal for walking the dog. Access to the Lake District is an easy 20 minute drive. Please note this property can be booked with The Old Dairy (CC143226) which is opposite to accommodate 10 guests.

    "Excellent location. Only downside no decent kitchen vegetable or bread knife! We have stayed in properties with macerators, (master bedroom en-suite) but never had one so nosy during the night when not being flushed. Not sure if that was normal or there is a fault. Very noisy and disturbed sleep."

    "Cottage was well equipped, a little dated but comfortable. Only fault would be the amount of blue bottles in the house upon arrival and bug displays around the house. Was a great location and locals all very friendly and helpful."

    "While we enjoyed our stay & made the best of our time........The macorator in the en suite goes off during all hours of the night & is very loud!Advertises free WiFi, your device will load the WiFi symbol but it does not work (didn’t for us!) Advertises bathrobes supplied, we didn’t get any! All the bits of hair/ fluff/ sand etc had been swept under the tables! Beware if taking your dog it does not state online they are not allowed in the carpeted rooms which only leaves the kitchen, entrance hall & conservatory which was too hot as we had fab weather & I imagine in winter it would be the opposite so not a safe option & on the back of the house so unless we sat in the hall or kitchen our pooch was alone!!!Our pooch is part of the family would not have booked here if this had been made clear online!!!Local bar is about a mile away & up quite a steep climb, nearest shops are in Maryport 3.5 miles away. Sky advertised but does not work so not sure what the honesty box for sky sports is all about! Misleading as I / we/ you book on the information supplied, when I phoned to book they even confirmed sky sports worked & you are asked to contribute £ in the honesty box. I don’t usually leave reviews but it’s unfair to advertise aspects which are not available or included especially re the pet. We would not return"

    "Loved the views over the countryside and Solway Firth to Scotland and the safe dog friendly garden. Also the walks from the door to the beach, nature reserve, around the farm's public footpaths and golf course. We had a problem with an overheating fridge (in the very hot weather) but the electrician was sent by the letting agent and fixed whilst we were out. We had a lovely relaxing time and self-catered much of the time due to the lovely weather and the very well equipped kitchen."

    "Comfort was good but was let down by tired electrical equipment. We had trouble with the tv and the washing machine and had to dismantle part of the dishwasher to remove a piece of plastic which was preventing the rotor arm going round. The tape deck on the radio didn't work. The trim board below the base cupboards at the sink fell off several times.These niggles apart, it was a lovely house in a superb position and we had a most enjoyable holiday."

    "Balamar was the perfect house in every way. The views are absolutely stunning and the house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden is fully enclosed once the driveway gates are closed so it was ideal for the 2 wee dogs. The weather was awesome the week we were there in May so we utilised the very comfy reclining outdoor chairs. There’s also a nice wee BBQ. The conservatory is a lovely place to sit and read or just chill out. The showers are awesome, really powerful with endless hot water. Everything about this house is great! For us, as we like to go shopping and explore, the location wasn’t the best. Maryport and Allonby (the nearest towns) don’t have a lot to offer, though Cockermouth is really lovely and worth a visit (we went twice). But if you just want to chill, relax, walk, paint, read or just enjoy chillaxing with family, then this is absolutely the perfect house. The pub is in walking distance, it’s about a mile, and we had really fab food there and although it’s a real ‘local’, the staff were friendly and the sevice and food couldn’t be faulted!"

    "Great week with family (3couples) and 2 lively dogs. House big enough to absorb everybody in comfort and all weathers. Great views and no need to wander far. Only shop in Dearham but Maryport/Cockermouth nearby. Garden great and safe for dogs. Kitchen well equipped and plenty of parking. Really relaxing overall."

    "a fantastic location with views across to Scotland and its hills. complemented with a spacious and well equipped bungalow, with a secure garden for your dog. in a small village with the stag inn pub for excellent home cooked meals, good ales and friendly owner and locals, dogs are allowed in the bar. easy drive to shops in Maryport. short walk to beach and coastal towns."
