About this property

This superb, uber-cool family property sits just beyond the sand dunes at Crantock beach. Completely refurbished to exacting standards, Seagrass offers reverse level accommodation, and is stylish and vibrant throughout. Making the very most of its countryside vista and distant sea glimpses, the property has wonderful floor-to-ceiling windows and a Juliet balcony off the sitting area; a fabulous spot to sit a while in the fresh sea air. During winter, the cosy wood burning stove turns the sitting room into a snug den, perfect for watching wild and windy storms thrash against the shore. The immaculate kitchen is chock-a-block with high-end appliances and has an enormous dining table big enough for the whole family to gather together. On the ground floor, each bedroom is neutrally decorated with colourful highlights, ample storage and crisp linens. Seagrass is a true family home-from-home; the owners have thought of everything to make your holiday the best yet. A converted garage offers a fantastic games room, and the house has a selection of children’s toys as well as an outdoor shower and storage for bikes and surfboards. Outside, there is a large enclosed garden with a lawn and a raised deck; ideal for young families and pet owners. The village of Crantock is just outside Newquay on the picturesque north Cornish coast. Its beautiful sandy (and dog-friendly!) beach with excellent surf is just beyond Seagrass, a hop and a skip across the dunes. There are a number of restaurants and pubs within walking distance; we recommend going for a morning walk and stopping by at the Fern Pit Café on the way home for one of their renowned lobster sandwiches!

Crantock is a small Cornish village set back from the coast close to the popular resort of Newquay. If you want to escape the crowds, yet still be close to the action, this is the place to be. There's stunning countryside all around and lots of pretty villages to explore; however, it is the coast that dominates. Enjoy superb walks along the coastal path over dramatic cliff-tops, or magnificent surfing on beaches stretching from Watergate Bay in the north to Fistral beach in the centre of Newquay and on down the coast. There are a number of golf courses in the area, National Trust properties, traditional pubs and outstanding restaurants. Newquay itself is a visitor's paradise with a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as attractions such as the Sea Life Centre, Newquay Zoo and nearby Dairyland and Eden Project.

Clean and well presented property if a little dated in parts. Loved the open plan living room, great log burner, TV etc. Kitchen relatively well equipped. Bedrooms downstairs ok. Large, good bathroom and shower downstairs. Huge parking area. Negatives. EV charging would be useful. Also WiFi was very poor in ground floor bedroom area, probably because of placement of the BT router in an enclosure on the first floor (easily fixed by moving the router or using WiFi access points). Good location close to village center and beach.

It’s comfortable, warm and always had lots of hot water, particularly needed after a cold, windy walk! Really pretty village location, although the steep walk from the beach certainly worked off any calories consumed at the great village pubs. The house had everything you could possibly need; comfy beds, comfy sofas, good WiFi and the upside down nature of the property afforded great views of the countryside. Would highly recommend Seagrass.

The house is in a great location and is the perfect size for our whole family to get together. There were 5 adults and 4 children and we felt that everyone had plenty of space. We would highly recommend staying here.
