Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends. Trains can be found at Saxmundham 6 miles away. Regular buses depart for Saxmundham, Leiston and Woodbridge from Aldeburgh High Street.

65 King Street, is a lovely cottage, well equipped, clean and close to the beach and high Street but it's close location ie: the court yard backs onto the White Hart pub with it's Pizza oven does mean that it can be quite noisy and the smoke from the Pizza oven does (if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction)become a bit over powering when sitting the small court yard during the summer months.

This is a delightful cottage right in the centre of Aldeburgh town centre. Full of character and thoughtfully furnished and we were very comfortable indeed. You will be right in one of the main hot spots of the high street with the pub and famous fish and chip shop on your doorstep. Busy in August and full of atmosphere and convenience. A stone's throw from the beach and we had no problems parking our car opposite on the street. More than enough choices of things to do in one week. The staff were really friendly and helpful on arrival and departure with keys - a busy Friday on the roads meant a possible late arrival but the team were great. We would definitely stay in this cottage again and book with Suffolk Secrets again who were really efficient, helpful and friendly.
